Interesting! :) Actually, I hold no qualms against those guests as I would reckon they're just browsing. Just aren't sure whether to register at AD or not. A lot of people who surf the web usually are curious and want to read what's happening at a site, etc to an extension without registering.
I do the same at some selected sites. :P

Sure, he's a good guy...but you would have to know the purpose of this ban to understand how a good guy appeared as a bad guy. :p

They are not required to be registered to browse...they are required to register to reply or use other features of this board like PM.
