Now, I believe some of you have already heard about this in the news...where some people who do NOT believe in God were protesting against the famous quote on currency, "In God we trust" and they say it offends them, because they dont even believe in God...well guess what? THIS IS AMERICA! and what we put in our american money is still part of our american ecomony and the quote "In God we trust" has ALWAYS been in our currency for more than 200 years, and now some people are bitchin' over this pointless situation?? to be perfectly honest, I do feel offended, also when they say they wanted this quote to be removed, even though I do believe in God and I feel they are violating our relgion, not letting us what to believe in what we want so, if they have a problem with this, the least they can do is just FRIGGIN' IGNORE IT!!! IS THAT SO FRIGGIN' HARD TO DO!!!! WHAT IS THE MATTER WITH YOU ALL FRIGGIN' BRAINLESS RETARDS?!?!?!?! USE YOUR FRIGGIN' HEAD AND THINK OF WHERE YOU ARE AT!!! THIS IS USA!!! NOT SOME KIND OF LAND WHERE YOU CAN VIOLATE AND PRESS YOUR FRIGGIN' POINTLESS OPINONS ON SOMETHING THAT WOULD GREATLY OFFEND US, AS IT MAY HAVE OFFEND YOU BUT JUST FRIGGIN' LEAVE IT ALONE YOU STUPID POTHEAD CRACK BAND OF FLEA BAG MONKEYS!!!

*ahem* You see, I DO respect other people's relgioins, so you know, if I was in china or Japan and they have buddism on their currency, do I have the right to shout it out that it's offending me because I'm christian? No. because Asian countries aren't based on christiany, as European and US are...USA is a christian country, and always has been since the birth of the nation. Everybody has different beliefs and I respect them, but they can't tell me what to believe in and what not to believe in...and that is outrageous.

So the least I can do is just ignore it and respect their beliefs, in whatever it is, I dont care because I have mine and I'm proud of it.

So...what do you think? Do you think we should remove the "In God we trust" on currency or what? I dont, because I believe in God and I wouldn't want to disrespect God, no matter what the situation is.

As I recall when the Soviet Union was formed it moved to have all relgious references removed, where is the Soviet Union Now?

God Bless America!

Dear Sir: You are about to submit your annual report to the Congress respecting the affairs of the national finances.

One fact touching our currency has hitherto been seriously overlooked. I mean the recognition of the Almighty God in some form on our coins.

You are probably a Christian. What if our Republic were not shattered beyond reconstruction? Would not the antiquaries of succeeding centuries rightly reason from our past that we were a heathen nation? What I propose is that instead of the goddess of liberty we shall have next inside the 13 stars a ring inscribed with the words PERPETUAL UNION; within the ring the allseeing eye, crowned with a halo; beneath this eye the American flag, bearing in its field stars equal to the number of the States united; in the folds of the bars the words GOD, LIBERTY, LAW.

This would make a beautiful coin, to which no possible citizen could object. This would relieve us from the ignominy of heathenism. This would place us openly under the Divine protection we have personally claimed. From my hearth I have felt our national shame in disowning God as not the least of our present national disasters.

To you first I address a subject that must be agitated.

Clearly a violation of the Separation of State and Church judging by what I recently quoted. Like it or not, but that's the truth. The person who wrote this letter clearly have no tolerance of the other religions and no respect for the Separation of State and Church.

The Soviet Union did make a big impact on several today's communist countries. Look at Laos, Vietnam, North Korea, and many more communist countries.

They're still influenced by the Soviet Union. They were obsessed with global domination.

This is a very different situation compared to what the Soviet Union did. They wanted to ELIMINATE the religious elements, references, anything related to religion from the society which they failed to. My personal opinion is, religion has no place in the government, but people are free to practice and promote it publicly, but the government shouldn't.

Separation of Church and State is not about Coin or Credo, Separation of Church and state is about keeping the church from infulencing decisions that the govt makes. A govt formed of the people and by the people, not by the church. The useage of God in coin and credo is more about maintaining our history than it is anything else. I am not a bible thumper in anyway shape or form, but I find this censoring of history, the pledge of allegance, the consoring of howard stern and other media figures highly disturbing. If you strip away free speech, and you strip away religious references you pave the way for a new communist type of state.

Pull out a $1 bill from your pocket and examine the back....

The $1 bill is a total walking contradiction because not only "In God We Trust" motto is on the back but the pyramid designs suggest an influence of Freemasonry along with the Latin mottos: Annuit Coeptis and Novus Ordo Seclorum.

The motto Novus Ordo Seclorum as translated from Latin by the US Treasury suggests "A new order of the ages". However while reading "Angels and Demons" by Dan Brown I came across this:

http://www.danbrown.com/secrets/bizarre_facts/angels_demons.html

THE "ALL-SEEING EYE" CONSPIRACY?
Much has been written about the origins of the Great Seal of the United States on the back of the one dollar bill.
Why a pyramid... an arguably un-American symbol?
Why a Latin reference to a "new secular order" (in stark contrast to "In God We Trust.")
And what about that eerie floating eyeball?

Many historians now credit the unseen hand of the Illuminati with influencing the design of the Great Seal. The Illuminati had infiltrated the brotherhood of the Masons at a time when the Masons were very influential in U.S. politics (Vice President Henry Wallace was an upper echelon Mason.) Most believe the Illuminati used their considerable influence to "brand" their symbology on the dollar bill.

The "all-seeing eye" above the pyramid is a well-known Illuminati symbol called the Shining Delta. The eye signifies the Illuminati's "all-seeing" infiltration of government and community. The triangle (or delta) around the eye is the mathematical symbol for change (the Illuminati's ultimate goal was to bring about massive change in the form of a secular New World Order.) And finally, the rays of light shining off the triangle signify enlightenment and illumination (i.e., intellectual freedom from the dangerous "myth" of religion.)

that Illuminati, in its literal translation means-'bearers of light'-Lumen, derived from Lucifer, 'angel of light'. One World Government under one World Religion, ruled by one King. It is nothing but an evil imitation, a counterfeit of the Kingdom of God. Satan controls this world. this is good pictures of structure of pryamid.

Banjo, you were right about 'Separation of State and Church' but there's alot of twistin with disinformation when president bush mention about god related to war.

I personally wouldn't like to see the words ' In God We Trust ' removed from our national currency ....Some of you already know that I am a Christian myself....It's not only about a religious issue as our Founding Fathers incorporate this creed/motto to be a vital part of this country...along with the foundation of separating government and church...

If we all can recall back to the times when a small percentage of unbelievers/atheists becoming more vocal in pursuading schools, public functions, etc. to keep prayers out...also getting the attention of schools to drop the ' Pledge of Allegiance '...and more recently attempting to have the
' Ten Commandments ' removed from judical and public buildings...and now having the words ' In God We Trust ' to be offensive to these people...it's getting to the point that I'm getting fed up with all of this...I don't see ANY harm at all...If there is anything that I feel offended with, it's easier to not complain about it and ignore it whether they believe it or not...

The morale of this is that this Great Nation started out under God...with what is happening over the last decade or more...This nation is being pulled apart by trival propanganda ( nethods of spreading opinions, beliefs, views ) and we may be in danger of not being a Great Nation anymore...We once almost permantly became two separate nations when slavery was a big issue which did bring about the Civil War....

It is my hopes that a certain percentage of these people that feel offended by the words ' In God We Trust ' to ignore this and not fight and view this from an important historical moment to which America arose.... :)

Steel, Read this, its fact....

First U.S. money never used the motto "IN GOD WE TRUST"
The original coinage minted by the United States never carried a religious motto. Interestingly, "MIND YOUR BUSINESS" appeared as the first motto (see below). The first American coinage appeared totally secular; as clean from a mention of god as the Constitution.

see 'Mind your business' middle of coin...

heh...to be honest, I dont think that "mind your business" doesn't make much sense on the very first US currency, does it?

but thanks for showing us the pics anyway

I agree to that. It's perfectly true.

It doesn't surprise me that some individuals may wish to remove that phrase from your dollar bill. I guess it doesn't really bother me that part of society wishes to remove everything they can to do with religion. I don't understand why it would offend people though? Because the money states that, doesn't mean they have to believe in it. Weak minded people find it hard to have thier own beliefs I guess, so have to remove the influence that surrounds them. Maybe they are offended because it is a reminder that there may be a God, and for a society that craves wickedness, it is hard to be reminded that someone is watching.
Or maybe they just don't think it's fair because not all religions are represented.
What ever the case, I'm sure God can handle it if the phrase is removed. "Give to Caesar...." Words are just words, unless you mean them in your heart. God wishes to bless everyone who will turn to him, (so, not just America, but Canada also and Iraq and Iran and Japan.. and so on.)
I guess I partly agree that it should stay for historical reasons. It's just interesting to hear all the view points, since I really don't have a strong stand on this. Maybe I'm just jealous cause all my money are wierd colors, and my pockets are heavy cause $1 and $2 are big coins with funny animals, like a loon and a polar bear.
Who takes a country seriously when your main coin is a "Looney"?
oh well. God Bless Canada.

DreamSlayer, The bible said it has Separation of State and Church, but Govt twisted it up which it aint suppose do that, but the founded father know what they doing for years for political purpose to get the votes of the religious right which he did and also election purpose.

It really does not Bother me weather " In God we Trust" are put on all paper currency... It the same way as Our Nation. " God Bless America! One Nation, Under God."

I would not mind if it on A Toliet Paper and Whip Your butt and It will say "In God We Trust"

It not going that much happen to be removed "In God we Trust" because here USA that start for long time. However; if they want to removed the "In God we Trust" will change everything in our people's law such as remove the freedom.

I learn from my college teacher himself part senator of oklahoma and he is retirement. So he teach that college and talk about that "In God we Trust". It will change a lot if they removed that one. It can reduce the freedom and letting the power to take over us. So no one want be taken over this freedom and then they can't remove it.

It kind of strange to say not to remove it or we will lose freedom. We still have freedom and it will freedom-less.
