Banjo, I think you meant that the Soviet Union was virently anti-religion. Wheras, many if not most of us who are against things like "under God" appearing in the Pledge, IGWT on our money and so on, are against that sort of stuff b/c it is not inclusive at all. Imagine if the Pledge said something like " In Diana We Trust" or "In Allah We Trust" We simply think that the government should get out of supporting religion and be NEUTRAL towards religion.This is a very different situation compared to what the Soviet Union did. They wanted to ELIMINATE the religious elements, references, anything related to religion from the society which they failed to.
