I wonder what native americans would think of this thread especially when the ARRIVING Americans killed them for not converting.

BTW what's the sign for Atheist?
 
This is a very different situation compared to what the Soviet Union did. They wanted to ELIMINATE the religious elements, references, anything related to religion from the society which they failed to.

Banjo, I think you meant that the Soviet Union was virently anti-religion. Wheras, many if not most of us who are against things like "under God" appearing in the Pledge, IGWT on our money and so on, are against that sort of stuff b/c it is not inclusive at all. Imagine if the Pledge said something like " In Diana We Trust" or "In Allah We Trust" We simply think that the government should get out of supporting religion and be NEUTRAL towards religion.

Who do you mean "ARRIVING Americans"? Pilgrims? Spanish conquistadors? Dutch traders? Immigrants coming thru Ellis Island? Mexicans crossing the Rio Grande?

Real Christians do not kill people for not converting. Real Christians tell people about Jesus then let the Holy Spirit convict and change hearts. Real Christians show their faith thru living good clean lives and helping other people.
