I'm going to Peru in November

It´s great to know that you go off for break...

I looking forward to see dozen of pictures... Don´t go in forest, where cannabial lives... (rumor in Europe that they have cannabials in Peru :dunno: Is it true?)

Good lucky on your trip and don't forget to bring your coat to keep you warm when you go to the mountain.

...are you going to see your relatives there?
Yes, I have some relatives in Peru and will pay them a visit. :)

Never heard of that but I'll ask around and find out if it's true, or not. :dunno2:

Yeah, Alex, DO ask around; would hate for you to come back minus an arm or something! lol!

Sounds like a big trip for ya, Alex. I hope you will enjoy it when time comes! ;)

You have relatives there - why not ask them... :D I rather to know from you before I stop the rumors.

We have friends (missionaries to the Deaf) in the mountains of Peru, and they've never mentioned any cannibals. :dunno:

When I visited Ecuador (borders Peru), there was an area we touched that had head-hunter tribes (Auca Indians) but that was many years ago. Our Indian guide refused to go beyond a certain point on the mountain because that tribe still lived there, and they had slaughtered his village, including his parents.

Alex should be fine, no problem. :P

I can't imagine how eager and anxious you must be heading back to Peru. But I can imagine you taking 'Google' shirts with ya!

Some of the posts that mentions various kinds of tribes may sound spooky somewhat...but fear not. Our own 'da man' (Alex) will make Indian Jones look little and fragile compared to 'da man'! It would sure make a great video if someone videotapes it all...watching 'da man' with a whip and 'Google' shirts come out on top...escaping back to this part of the world within the community of AD!! :D

Anyhow...enjoy your trip and hopefully it'll be full of adventure and happiness (reuniting with family members).... ;)

Hey Alex, if you happen to come across those cannibals while you are on your vacation then at least you know hand to hand combat, survival skills also the evasion and escape skills. That would make one hell of a story to tell !!!!!

I am sure you will probably want to go to one of the national rainforest areas much like the state parks you see in the USA then you should be alright and then there is always off the beaten path and go 4x4. Just make sure to be close to the jeep or truck in case you run into the jungle animals like the yellow striped tiger or the wild jaguar. They are powerful and dangerous animals.

Enjoy and have fun. Stay safe and God Bless !!!!! :) :thumb:

You are very lucky to go there. I wanna go there too. I never visit there but I would like go there someday. Have a safe trip to Peru. Please share the pictures. :D :thumb:

Alex,

Are you planning with mingle with the deaf community in Peru? I wonder they have their own sign language - Peruvian Sign Language.

Yes, there is a Peruvian sign language.

If you want to know a little bit about the Deaf in Peru, our missionaries to the the Deaf there have a website. They have a Deaf church and school in Peru.
