What makes you believe that the lost property people are more honest in their duty than the police are? Police are sworn to obey the law also, and do their duty. At least, American police are sworn in. I don't know the requirements for German police.

Like what I say in my earlier post that I'm too parniod to trust police since I heard scandal about polices often in the world. I haven't receive any scandal about Lost Property Officer but polices. :dunno: Perhap it's me and parniod image... :dunno:

I trust Lost Property Officer because they have papers for us to write down and signuature for the Finder and the Owner. It prove enough thru signatures. They are happy to give me an address & phone/fax number of the Finder if I ask for.

I know that police made their duty but I rather give things to Lost Property Officer because it's their job to handle with lost things, not police. It's police job to hunt criminals etc. IMO.
 
My co-worker just told me today that she found the wallet with 1,500 Deutsche Marke (DM) inside with credit cards and was about return the wallet to Police Station but the police told her to go Lost Property Office. It was happened to her once at 10 years ago. That's why we went to Lost Property Office instead of Police. I didn't know that until my co-worker just told me few minutes ago.

The owner reward her DM 250 and flower.
 
If I find it then I will report to the cops that I find it somewhere as a quick.
 
i would for sure turn it into the cops.

because its someone's money and someone's looking for it

and if no one claims it...then i get it.
