Hospital

My mother always wrote our names, the event (birthday, graduation, etc.) and the date the picture was taken in pen or pencil on the back of each photo.
 
When my parents had a video camera in the early 80s until my mother was well enough to continue making videos, we used to capture Christmas as well as the summer parades we used to participate in. I still have a VHS from 1983 when I participated in the Lancer Band back in 7th grade.
 
My parents recorded the few day of our lives as we was all in our home hospital then. Then they videod our christening day, our first bday and our 2nd
 
What year were you born? I was too young to have any of my childhood events recorded on video because the technology was far too expensive. We didn't start making home videos until 1983.
 
Oh boy...

I had a 4th heart surgery in my life. I had a plastic aortic valve replacement, and now I have a titanium valve and a ring valve for a mitral valve. I was told that many patients didn't survive 4th heart surgery. Gulps!

Three years ago, I had Staph aureus infection around my valve probably from my gum infection that stuck with a tiny food inside the gum. I tried to floss it, and it doesn't work. I had a different infection at the hospital and was in a coma for a while. A nurse or a doctor was a jerk - they didn't a good job to watch out the germs. I had a horrible and suffered at the hospital for two and half months, and the bedroom was so damn too dry that made my skin itchy a lot which was in the wintertime.

Before I had the surgery, something happened to me and I felt like a dead body on my back. Now, I have a hernia on my upper stomach because I believe that a surgeon forgot to sew it at the end of the scar properly. Now, I will have to get another surgery to fix my hernia at a different hospital.

My mother told me that she caught some nurses made many mistakes giving the wrong medicines. The nurses were so tired all day and haven't sleep well. Some hospitals have a scanner for the prescription before the nurses give them to the patients do not always work. It's a human error.
 
'96 - I fell off on my bed and banged on my head on my desk. Got about 8 stitches.. Don't remember much...

'99 - Pulled out one tooth ( I think )

'00 - CI operation

'04 - fell over my bike and got fracture arm

'05 - pull another 2 teeth out and got braces on about 3 or 4 months later
 
Aug 10, 2009 at the camping site, I had abs pains, there is no ambulance service in the small town, the camp staff took me and drive fast (with signal flashers) rushing to the hospital. I was blacked out in the staff's SUV truck, the staff honked the horn to open the ambulance bay doors (Garage doors), ER staff brought gurney to put me down then rushing to trauma room, I woke up in the trauma room and asked doctor use the saline IV for ABS pains.. then the doctor ordered pain medication thru the IV tube. whoaaaa the pain medication very strongest than morphine, feel like "drunk" and head throbbing. They took me to X-ray, ultrasound and CT scan. They drawn my bloods and urine, Doctor amitted me for overnight in my trauma room with the camp staff next to me (RN nurse offered 2nd gurney for my staff sleep in). I woke up the in the trauma, lab tech drawn my blood again.. and then the doctor found, it's is FLU virus and gas it's mixed pretty BAD. they give me a restriction meals and brought back to my camping site, lot of resting in my cabin while the staff monitoring me to make sure I am okay. even they brought a foods into my cabin.
 
1985- I was born 3 months early and weighed 2 lbs 2 and a half ounces (so 22 is my lucky number!). I had jaundice and stayed in hospital for 3 months til I'd gained enough weight. I was also born with blonde hair which eventually turned ginger (my mum is auburn)- that fact fascinates me! I have photos but we don't have many home videos as we have never had a camcorder, so it's basically weddings and christenings.

My hearing loss is the only issue from being premature, to my knowledge- and a bellybutton which is kinda flat, neither innie nor outtie, from having some sort of tube in there. Although I also have claw toes- it's not as bad as it sounds, it just means that my toes are naturally bent along the first joint, not flat like everyone else's. I used to wonder why everyone else had flat toes! I have high arches too so finding proper shoes which fit is difficult.

I also have depression, which I have read is linked to being preemie, but correlation does not equal causation. I have never been to hospital for this, which I am extremely grateful for.

Apart from that, only once- 1992 when I was 7, I got my finger trapped in a door and the nail got crushed. I had 2 stitches, and the nail grew back a slightly different shape, and I have scars from the stitches. I also have the actual stitches (my mum kept them which really grosses me out!) a bandage sling with a sticker on, and a certificate they gave me saying I was brave!

I am glad that I very few memories of being ill or in hospital, as I was so young.
 
I had to have heart bypass surgery the day after Christmas last year I stayed in the hosiptal for a couple of weeks. I had a severe infection last summer and I had to stay in the hopitial for a week.

that crazy!! you have numerous heart surgery in your lifes.. My dad had heart valet in June 2004 and he never had heart attack he really perfect fine and also my uncle had heart surgery almost same my dad's but he almost dies but he alives..But my late Grandfather had 2 heart attack one in 1976 have no problems they later in one year he killed himself but he should quit smoking anytimes because its hard dues chain smoking that not good for my late grandfather..

my family had heart history also but i dont have heart surgery in my lifes..
 
i was born in 1981

1982 im become deaf at ages ten month old but my mom took me to dr's office for check-up on my ears makes sure im ok and my mom tell me im become deaf its hard explain for me to understand..

when i was young my mom took me to hospital for EEG makes sure i dont sezuire they later in my adulthood my doctor says i should have EEG makes sure my brain OK!! I always fell of the bed all the times.

And also i cant remind my ages i got in hospital dues i got pneumonia but i wont wanted influence students and also my classmates..

When i was 12 years old i got worse sick badly i cant going back to school and my mom makes decision going see doctor they have see lung specialist in Kansas City to surgery me but the doctor who operation me at Olathe Medical Center about 1/3 of my lungs and my back also scars but doctor remove my birth defects on my lungs thankness godness and im staying hospital for about 2-3 months around my parents stay with me and my grandmother also stay with me till i got my lung recovery improvement successful and doctor checkup x-ray of my lungs looks FAB!!
