I was referring to the statement about enjoying life on earth. Our lives, as individuals, is temporary on earth. Every creature on earth dies eventually (until the Rapture happens). Some animal species have become extinct since Creation time. Death is everywhere. So physical life on earth right now is temporary.

Two of my best friends are hardcore Christians and they are OK with my being bi! I really honestly think within a generation or two that the majority of mainline Christian churches will openly accept gay people and be OK about people being gay. Being gay is about who you love. How can love be wrong? I remember when I first fell in love with Maureen, I was like "OMG....this feeling is the love that they say that Jesus has for His flock!!! I even consdiered becoming a Christian!"

You know, everytime a discussion thread gets going on christianity, the non christians ALWAYS holler, "judging!! Judging!!" And yet, the bible does command us to know right from wrong. The process of figuring out whats right/wrong....is judging right from wrong. It does not mean we are directly judging the person.
I have to put in my 2 cents worth and brace myself for the disagreers. But let me first say, what I am about to say, is not my own opinion, but its straight from the bible. 1Corinthians 6:9-10....Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be decieved. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor theives, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.
Now, it goes on to say in verse 11 ...And such were some of you. But you were washed, (baptized), you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.
Now see, it says right there that those who practice those things will NOT inherit Gods kingdom. Then it goes on to say, you can be washed of that sin! So dont lose hope. If you have been living that lifestyle its not too late to make a change, to confess your sins and be baptized (John 3:3-5) and follow Jesus!

The thing I really want to say tho, is, those of you who dont believe the bible says these things, read it for yourself. Dont take my word for it.
The other thing is, I know many people are against Christianity because they see so many who profess to be a christian that dont live their lives by the Bible. I have seen it too. I have been wronged by "christians". But that is not going to stop me from loving God myself, and learning of His will and living His way. I hope it wont stop you either!!

the only time G-D put down any rules was to moses!!! the 10 comandments!!!

Lifestyle? WHAT "lifestyle?" My lifestyle is not drasticly different from a hetrosexual person's lifestyle. I mean I live life the same as many other people....I listen to music, love playing online, love to read, have friends, am a geek....the only difference from a hetrosexual soul is that I happen to be attracted to SOME people who have the same "bits down there."......Why is it such a sin? What if I fell in love with a hermaprodite (someone who has both male and female parts) Would THAT be a sin? What if I fell in love with someone with a sex chromosome abnormality? (have differing amounts of X and Y chromosomes....according to experts an XX chromosome makeup makes a female, and an XY makeup makes a male....what about other makeups?)

I have read the Bible....I have read those verses. I have also read crtiques on those verses. It's important to realize that the terms may have been misinterpreted/mistranslated. It's hard to really tell the orgional meaning of some of the words. I remember reading that the verses that are anti-homosexual, aren't referring to same sex love or relationships...The term homosexual wasn't even coined until something like 1860ish! I will have to look this up, but the word used translated more into sex crimes or people who used sex wrongly....like *tries to think*.....like people who used sex to worship evil gods or whatever.....
Reba, my point was that Christianity as a whole does not roundly condemn homosexuality....It is many Christian churches that condemn homosexuality.
Church of Christ accepts homosexuality....some Lutherans accept it, some Episcopalins accept it, some Catholics accept it and so on. Do you see my point now?
