The Jews are God's chosen people. That doesn't mean that He loves your people any less. It just means that God has a special plan for the Jews.
In the OT yes. NT no.

Reba, I do definitely agree with deafdyke's sayings. I don't think that She putting gays, blacks, jews all into same category. she was tried to tell you, 300 or 350 years ago till now , white chirstians and white racists are still pratice on bible against blacks, against gays, and against others also. that is facts!Reba said:I am not putting black and Jews into one category. Deafdyke brought up that comparison. She was putting homosexuals, blacks, and Jews all into a similar category of oppression by Christians. I stated that they were NOT the same.
Do you know what color of jews who were slaves in egypt and babylon? I bet that you did not think that jews 's history matched egypt's hieroglyph on wall like every where in tomb and temple and others. Have you see hieroglyph picture look exactly like modern jews today?Reba said:The Jews were slaves in Egypt and Babylon for many hundreds of years.
I don't think that jews are God's chosen people. I dont care if God loves me less. I knew him since he dwell in my flesh and I am in his flesh is of God [i.e. Him] from yesterday, today and forever!Reba said:The Jews are God's chosen people. Amen to that!CyberRed said:The Jews are STILL God's chosen people from the beginnin' to the end. Jesus Himself was Jewish in NT.![]()

For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
These passages talk about lesbain and gay. It is very obvious that God GAVE UP with those people who are homosexuals if they love each other or lust each other. Homosexual lovemaking is obvious sin as God called, "vile affections."
We as Christians, get along with homosexual people, but will NOT practice homosexual sin. Preach them and win those lost souls to Jesus. The Bible teaches that any Christians MUST withdraw from them if homosexual sin appears in front of them.
oh really? christians get along with homosexuals??? who told you?Askjo said:Please read Romans 1:26-27 (KJV)

Sigh...I really try to avoid getting personal in these debates about homosexuality and sin, but somehow my name gets dragged into it again.deafdyke said:....How I wish that Reba, Crazymanwoot and the others who are screaming that gayness is a sin could be gay for a day.
I guess anti-Semitism depended on where people lived, and how people were brought up. I grew up in the 50's and 60's, lower middle class, so I guess I wasn't exposed to much of that. Besides, the Vatican doesn't have the authority to accuse or absolve the Jews of anything....Hey when my mom was little (before the vatican ruling that absolved the Jews of any responsibilty in Jesus' death) anti-Semitism was common (not as blatent, but common)
No, Lis, Beth and my other buddies all read the Bible and follow what's in it!They don't really completely following the Bible. They are adjusting the Bible with our own mind to satisfy oursevles and a pragmatic influence also. They are not Christian if they bends the Bibles to our our standards from the Lord's standards.
EVERYONE sins, crazymanwoot! EVERYONE! Being gay is not some gigantic unforgivable sin! My soul is not in danger....NOBODY'S soul is in danger if they simply follow the teachings of Jesus.....So you're saying that a person can't be a homosexual and be a Christian? You really really need to talk to someone about that! Look at that Gay Christian site I sent you to....many if not most if not ALL the people who hang out there once thought as you did....but many of them have learned to recoincile their religion with their sexuality. But the fact that you can't deny is that Jesus NEVER said anything about homosexuality! He just said "Love your neighbor as your brother"Do you know that the incest, sex before marriage, lust on other people than your marriage spouse or more to name is same sin as all other sin?
Homosexuality is a serious outbreak right now and we Christian needs to take it under control for your and other people's soul safety. That is why we are little crazy over the homosexual. Homosexual is spreading really fast and change our America's thought with the reality from the Bible's standards. We gotta defend it for our Lord.

I have devout Catholic friends who are 100% OK with my being gay. I remember when I was still offically in the closet, OB and I had a conversation and out of the clear blue sky she goes "I don't care if you like girls or guys....I just want you to be happy!" That totally melted me...since I had been very afraid to tell them b/c I wasn't sure of their reaction.
Is the only correct interpretation of the Bible YOUR or your church's interpretation?

The people at the gay christian site weren't ones who were recruited or molested or whatever....
Also, I don't deny those scriptures.....I am not a Bible expert....can't really defend myself too well there....BUT, as you may recall there are problems in translatation from one language to another. The term used wasn't homosexual....matter of fact, if my memory serves correctly the term homosexual wasn't coined until something like the 1860's........
Also the Biblical experts who say that homosexuality may not be a sin, aren't bending or twisting words or whatever....the orgional word was closer in meaning to something like males who had sex slaves or people who did ritual sex abuse or whatever....I shall have to look up some linky-links for you....and remember....JESUS Himself, NEVER said anything about gayness being a sin! You cannot deny that!
That is their choice as individuals. That doesn't make it OK with God.deafdyke said:I have devout Catholic friends who are 100% OK with my being gay.
You are correct that it is not an unforgivable sin. But it is a sin. To be forgiven, first the person must admit that it is a sin. Then, the person must repent the sin and accept Jesus as Savior. Then, God will forgive the sin.EVERYONE sins, crazymanwoot! EVERYONE! Being gay is not some gigantic unforgivable sin!
Each and every person's soul is in danger until he/she repents and accepts Jesus as Savior. That is the most important teaching of Jesus to follow. My soul is not in danger....NOBODY'S soul is in danger if they simply follow the teachings of Jesus...
A homosexual can become a Christian. After becoming a Christian, the homosexual can ask Jesus for help in overcoming the sin. It is not easy but with God's grace it can be done. This is true for any lifetime sin that has a grip on a person. So you're saying that a person can't be a homosexual and be a Christian?
Actually, Jesus didn't say that. He said:... He just said "Love your neighbor as your brother"..
Because the original Scriptures weren't in English. The term used wasn't homosexual...
Obviously there were homosexual people around before that time; they just used different terminology. So what? A different name doesn't change the meaning.matter of fact, if my memory serves correctly the term homosexual wasn't coined until something like the 1860's....
How do you know that? Also the Biblical experts who say that homosexuality may not be a sin, aren't bending or twisting words or whatever....the orgional word was closer in meaning to something like males who had sex slaves or people who did ritual sex abuse or whatever....
I am not here to judge or critize on you at all.. just opinion in my head that what i learned it from catholic history tells me about that, Most Catholic priests and Nuns are homosexuals. that why they claimed they accpet your being gays for who you are.. that's Catholic system and policy. You know that catholic's own history always repeat itself... not mine.. :0)deafdyke said:No, Lis, Beth and my other buddies all read the Bible and follow what's in it!

Honestly, it showed me that obviosuly {edited} are following their church's interpretations! They are not fully knowledge about scripture of word in their eyes are still blinded! TRUST ME!deafdyke said:Is the only correct interpretation of the Bible YOUR or your church's interpretation?
Deafdyke, I am scritpure expert what I believed in. anyway..Yes, I am still sinner because my mortal is still mortal flesh! but my mind are not mortal but IMMORTALLY!!!!! :0Ddeafdyke said:EVERYONE sins, crazymanwoot! Here I nevr say that you are damn wrong.. Old testament is not applies to jews. anot Jesus, Yes Old testment applies to Him. In Jewish times, there never have any new testament arrive during Jesus walked on the earth. Here verse prove from below:deafdyke said:I've been debating anti-gay folks online for a VERY VERY LONG time!
I was just waiting for this *rubs hands eagerly*
First of all, Levicticus is Old Testament. It only applies to Jews....Do you wear clothes of mixed fabrics? Are you aware that Levicticus says that it's OK for a parent to kill their children?
I am very busy as of right now....but will return very very soon!

Let's remember NOT to accuse or judge(that can be considered as a form of bashing/insulting) any other member of their beliefs/opinions whether it's indirect or directly done so(meaning naming members, etc)...Keep in mind to agree to disagree, without actually putting any member down for their own beliefs/opinions, etc.
Thank you!
