It looks like the damage from Hurricane Katrina will be the most costiest disaster in the United state history because it covered Florida, Mississippi, Louisana and plus it's 2005 dollars.

The gas price today near my apt shot up 5 cents after it was been the same price for over a week and half, I think. It's $2.78 per gallon for 87 octane, up from $2.73.

many predict it will be $3.09 average price in US by labor weekend

$3.09....thank god I have a compact car. SUV drivers will go bye bye with their budgets, we expect to see a spike of divorces because of budgets (joke)

Not much choice, huh? I hope u have a great labor weekend, though. ;)

It have been so strange this past week because the gas price got down until the hurricane hits, it have been going up about 10 cents yesterday and now this morning I went to the store, I just saw about 10 cents back down again. I was like huh why it have been going up and down back and forth. Hopefully it will go all the way DOWN after Labor Day!!

All I can say about gas prices is.....

AAAAUUUUUGGHHHHH! Gas prices are driving me loony lately but good thing I drive 4 banger with 5 speeds so my mpg would be in the 30's. But a caveat if u fill up with 10% ethanol (think alcohol) cut in the gas, your mpg gets thrown out of the window compared to filling up with 100% gas.

I'll be lauffing my ass off for sure when the poor H2 Hummer driver has to pay 60 to 70 bucks to fill his tank next pump over to me when I fill up at the CITGO gas station. (side note I'm going to be filling up with CITGO gas instead of Pilot gas 'cuz CITGO is owned by the Government of Venezuela's state oil company, PDVSA, and the profits from CITGO gas/oil sales goes to benefit Venezuela's poor instead of my gas money going to line the fucking Exxon/Mobil/BP/Texaco/Chevron fat cats' pockets!...Viva Chavez!) go over to http://www.citgo.com/AboutCITGO.jsp

Socioeconomic development

PDVSA is genuinely committed to Venezuela's social and economic development, and is especially active in projects focused on health, education, environment, and local economy.
The State oil company has also begun a review aimed at integrating Social Investment into the framework of a vision of Corporate Social Responsibility that works directly with communities, and emphasizes the development of local small and medium-sized enterprises in oil-related and other sectors, especially cooperatives and microenterprises.

If it's true about labor day hitting at 3.09... I figure if SUV have a 30 gallon. So I figured out at 3.09 per gal multiply by 30 gallong... Total is freaking 92.70 that's *bleep* outrageous! Thank god for compact car!

Yeah, nobozo, wouldn't that be a hoot when you see the faces of those H2 Hummers, Ford Excursion, Chevy Suburban and Caddy Escalade drivers when they see the total price for a full tank of gas!

Oh shit I just got back home 5 minutes ago. I passed by a gas station putting up $3.09 on their board for REGULAR unleaded! When I left home this morning, and filled my car up at the CITGO this morning, the going price was 2.79! That was 30 cents in the span of 3 hours! :dizzy:

This is getting Nucking Futs totally!

No wonder Pat Robertson had issued a 'Fatawa' on Chavez because Pat's oil buddies got real stiffed.

Richard

Yeah, Nesmuth, tell that to me. Chavez has more Christian compassion than that SOB Pat Robertson! That was why I switched to CITGO to show support for Chavez's policies out there in Venezuela. At least I know that my gas money is going to do a lot for the people who live in Venezuela.

I don't know if its true or not...but I just heard that gas might be OUT in 10 days for a little while, anyone know about it????

DAMN...thxs Angel, I've been wondering after all Katrina threw a HUGE monkey wrench on the Gulf Coast refineries. Most of the refineries on the Coast, along with the oil rigs, have been knocked offline by Katrina.

Now I know the reason gas prices were going like a Moon rocket today. Even Dumbya's dumping the Strategic Petroleum Reserve didnt do jack to relieve the pressure on already sky-high oil prices!

I hope that happens as I'm tired of the giant gas guzzling SUV going off like they own the roads. The freeways will light like on super sunday.

And it's high time we start looking into renewable energy sources.

Richard

Some people don't have a choice about the size vehicle. My Hubby's business must use a full-size, heavy-loaded van. He uses at least 90 gal. per week. He is stuck.

why don't we all just own a horse?

If I gonna get a horse, I'll buy me a Mustang.

If u did decide to own a horse your wallet will be screaming sweet mercy!

1) Hay
2) shelter
3) water
4) bedding
5) saddle
6) the horseshoe guy
7) vet bill

Horse is HIGH maintenance than car. Plus more expensive to keep a horse maintained compared to a car.

hay is cheaper than gas
i 'll put the horse in my backyard for shelter and bedding
water is cheaper than oil
saddle, oh no problem
horseshoes are cheaper than tires
vet bill is cheaper than insurance rates, car tag, and get car checkup

My mother just told me that the gas price in Georgia cost 6 dollars. She watched on the news. I don't believe this story. No one wants to pay that price.

hay is cheaper than gas

oh yeah?, check the hay prices on the web. :P

i 'll put the horse in my backyard for shelter and bedding

nope, horse needs at least 1-2 acres, not a tiny yard.

water is cheaper than oil

actually water cost more than oil, it cost $1.29 for a litre of bottled water

saddle, oh no problem

Saddles are expensive, unless u're a bargain hunter

horseshoes are cheaper than tires

wait til you pay the horse shoe guy to fix horse shoe

vet bill is cheaper than insurance rates, car tag, and get car checkup

You need to take your horse in every 6 months for vet check ups and all that and it's expensive

It costs average of $2,000 a month to matain a horse alone, and it's not cheap and it's slow
