You consider forcing a person to remove a medical device, the removal of which may kill them, to be a nonviolent act? That's funny.

You have AIDS and live in a leper colony. Is that why removing a face mask would kill you?

I doubt that is true.

...I just fail to see how this a safety issue.
It's so people can be matched up with their picture ID cards.

Would you be OK with substituting a finger print check instead of a visual ID?

I'm curious; does your school require picture ID's for students and staff?

Retinal scan would work.

Retinal scan would work.

but what about people with eye condition that requires them to keep the prescription glasses on? and what about people with eye disease that would render retinal scan useless?

... oooor someone could be undergoing chemotherapy and have particularly low counts, or someone could have a serious immune system disease, or someone could be an organ transplant recipient, or someone could have received a bone marrow/stem cell transplant just a few months ago, or someone could have a serious lung disease like cystic fibrosis and be particularly vulnerable due to the individual nature of their lung disease.

that person shouldn't be driving... a person going thru like that? one is usually bedridden or confined to one's home for a while to recover.

I do have scarred retinas. I thought that would just be part of my personal retina scan.

A friend and I. She's the one in scrubs, having just left work (the job she has despite having a serious lung disease) and I'm the other one, and we're in the lobby of a hyatt place hotel as I was visiting her city.

It may or may not work. Retina Scan and fingerprint scan rely on certain key points. One of my finger has a scar that would skew fingerprint scan but hey.... I have 9 other fingers to make a positive scan :)

None of those will kill you if you slip the mask off for a moment if you are able to be up and out of the hospital.

If my scarred retinas render them invalid , I would be perfectly happy to give a fingerprint.

Or to remove the dark glasses that I must wear outside due to my eye disease.

Slipping the mask off "for a moment" puts you in contact with 100% unfiltered air. if there is any sort of airborne disease in your space you are at risk of inhaling it. Even when you put the mask back on, you are now re-breathing in a contaminated space.

so... it would make sense for you to stay in a bubble room, don't ya think?

Your DNA will suffice. :giggle:

drive slow. obey speed limit. wear your seat belts. obey traffic laws. you'll be fine :)

Fine in this country. But in France, if one is being literal about the law, we would be breaking the law by being in a public space with our masks. Of course, the spirit of the law is to discriminate against muslims, not sick people, but I want to point out the hypocrisy of saying it is strictly for "identification purposes".

Or to take controlled risks which should be to the discretion of the individual and their doctor. Not the individual, their doctor, and lawmarkers who think that covering your face is oppression.

nah they're not that stupid. I envision that everything will be smooth and lawful in France. no problem.

same thing with our full-body scanner.

when it comes to probable cause, it's now officer's discretion. Doctor or lawmakers or individuals do not have any say in this matter.
