Well, that's a reasonable excuse. I don't want them removed just because someone thinks they're offensive. That's something based on one person. If it's cuz they're never used, then that's based on the whole forum... which is a more reasonable excuse. However, in this case... it's to remove them because they are "pornographic".

Let me say this please, HelloKitty has every right to create this thread, and Alex did said it was up to the members on this, so she decided to do this poll, I don't even see it as being a ' whinner ' or ' immature' when every one of us has the right to express our view on things we don't feel is right...If you don't like this thread then don't bother posting it in here, I'm getting tired of your attitude towards other members...Say something nice or don't say it at all ....

IF u don't like the emtiocons that are being displayed in the simlieys list theres a ample reason u can do a better method, I memorized half of those i use constantly and just typed the ( : : ) that little code in the paretheses and type in what u want for example : smile: that idea ok that way u do not have to see the smilies itself!

i still think that members who dislike a smiley can still ignore them -- Alex has posted as well saying he would look into how to add in the disable feature for members who wants to have those smileys "blocked out" which is also fine by me -- i personally dont have a problem with any of those smilies *shrugs*

I vote no because of freedom's right... I simply ignore them if I don't like it... but some of them I still find it funny.. nothing wrong with that... so NOOOO is what I voted but maybe try seperate the smileys to two options, a nice one then dirty ones ?? so that both still accessible without removing too much ??

I always tell my friends... "If you don't like it, don't do it." It's like those Playboy magazines in the bookstore. If you don't like those Playboy magazines, don't buy them. They have gun stores. If you don't like guns, don't go there. There are a lot of things in this world that many of us don't like, but we all have to learn to deal with it and/or ignore it. There are a lot of things I don't like at RIT, but I'm still here and doing fine.

Yes, but like I said before, the store has those PlayBoy Magazines and guns elsewhere. They are not just anywhere. Why don't we have Playboy in the aisle by the cash register? Why not have guns in the grocery stores? Why not have guns lying around the house? There's a reason.

I say that if you want to enjoy those things, then take them out in your own private times. Children will be exposed at some times or the other, but I wasn't concerned about children when I first posted this. Other people brought up the topic about children. My main concern is that it is inappropriate because not everyone wants to see that. It's an offensive thing that most people do not want to see on a daily basis if something can be done about it. Sexual natures are best to be kept separate. This is why we have a Penisarium board for extreme sexual things. Religious matters usually are kept on a separate board, same with Rainbow, etc. because it is controversial.

The reason why I don't think it should be in this forum as a public thing because it is a deaf forum which have all kinds of people. It should be kept friendly by having those emoticons where it belongs--the Penisarium board or at least turn it off for those who choose to do so.

I am glad Alex posted. I am also glad he understands. At least try to find something of an on/off option.
