Hmm.. Bad intersections = bad drivers? ;) I tell people, car accidents and rush hour is caused by people who dont know how to drive. :)

Here's the link if you're curious for other info. -

umm... something i'd like to say... here in my hometown there's alot of intersections with no stop light or stop sign or yeild sign.. this creeps me out.. since it's high traffic and near the hosiptal. I see most drivers don't slow down they just zoom across the intersections.

That is absolutely stupid of the city to not put stop signs or lights at the intersections. Way too many people get killed at intersections, and having no warnings will make it worse.

There are a lot of bad drivers out there.

yeah i agree.. the city counical have been discussing this for a year now... still no stop sign or so.. and.. state of minn is have money problems.

I read the newspaper for this area says that average of 17 accidents per year at those intersections... seems small but in a town of 20,000 people.. 17 seems alot..

none of them were killed.. since the speed limit is 30 mph...

In Philadelphia and also in Salt Lake City, we have a lot of intersections with 4 Way Stop signs. It is weird to get used to, but now I know that I have to let people go in order they arrived, etc...

In Utah, if there are no stop signs, or if traffic lights are down (it has happened in the snowstorms), we have to treat them like 4 way stop sign intersections, letting people take turns to cross the intersection.

back east in Montgomery County MD -- there are traffic lights at every (looked to me at least) major intersections and some smaller ones too -- real and fake and its reduced ALOT of red light running incidents that wouldve caused a major traffic jam -- but here in St Louis County Missouri my god!!!! ive seen SO MANY red light runners that i got into a habit of just letting the light turn green and wait another minute ANYWAY (and i didnt care if ppl honked their horns to me after all im :deaf: LOL) to make sure theres no other red light runners at the intersection and have noticed that theres NO traffic cameras fake or real at SO MANY intersections here  i would support the county to use funds to install real/fake traffic cameras at the major intersections at least to start and install them when budget allows it at smaller intersections then it would help reduce the red light runners and thus would reduce collisions at the intersections as well!

funny u should bring up the intercestion of fair oaks and howe in Sacremento california ur right there were constant accidents cuz they are only using the stop sign u know whats even worse EVEN I know it from the DMV books go counterclockwise so give everyone else a chance to go BUT nooooooooooo many are SUCH an idiots and ingore that and end up in an accident!

it wasnt a car -- it was a damn rig (18-wheeler) while in LA -- thank god for my defensive driving lessons i had YEARS ago!!!

My city is listed twice. :(

:whip: at the drivers at home.

They're not 4 way stop instead they are multiple signal inteserction which is pretty easy to follow. Left arrows for left turns and right arrows for right turns not straight forward.

I guess Texas improved lately. I remember years ago when Texas had five locations listed in the top 10. Three of them were in the Plano, TX area!

OH MY GOD
10. Sacramento, Calif. - Fair Oaks Boulevard and Howe Avenue

I am always taking this intersection...........that is why I started going from Watt to get on fair oaks........cuz of the traffic problems........ they have cameras there I am suprised they are still having problems........... that intersection is close to my university and the freeway 50 so lots of cars coming that way to turn on Fair Oaks cuz Fair Oaks has lots of doctors, restarurants and stores......

Did you know?
Plano, Tex. - Park Rd and Preston Road use to be No. 2 when they had only 4 lanes on each one way. Now, they fix 4 or 5 years ago. Now, 7 lanes each one way about half mile. I am surprise, it has been improve - drop from No. 2 to Unrank! :)

Yeah - Midway Rd & Beltline (Addison, TX) and Park Rd & Preston (Plano, TX) used to be on 10 tops. I am surprise, they actually drop out of 10. woohoo!

121 hwy and Preston are fixing right now. 121 hwy going to turn into freeway highway.

Javapride -- this was really on the interstate as opposed to at an intersection in LA (just realized i hadnt mentioned that previously)

Obvouisly Major of city hall avoid this issues debate which costing expense to improvement the problem areas.. They doesn't want expense on the area which having high percent accident or freak accident whatever.. Dependale on police do sumth'n for the set up safety etc etc.. Wha.. a dork major of city hall really totally lazy! Major of city hall prefer expense on other likely to build new road or others whatever..

I don't see how it can be difficult to put stop signs there, they aren't that expensive.

It's just made out of steel and they only need two colours to paint it!

 #1 is like 35 minute drive from me and I think it is #1 because there is a huge Centry Village (Old Folks Home) on the same corner. Not trying to be rude but you even get runned over with grocery baskets in their grocery store! :giggle:

there are quite a few nasty intersections where i live that are near a major highway. since i live in a relatively small suburb, these intersections are never found on national lists of the most dangerous in the u.s. however, every time the metro area does a survey, they rank #1 and #2 respectively -- and i'm lucky enough to live near both of them. NOT.
