I'm the proud new owner of 15 stiches in my leg! The other night I had a butcher knife accident. I was getting ready to prep some food where I had set my 14 inch butcher knife on the edge of the counter. I then went to grab a large cutting board; not remembering I had just placed the knife on the counter (hanging half off I might say) and when I threw the cutting board on the counter it hit the knife flipping it off the counter and spearing right into my leg below my knee! LOL it gets better....It went in with such force the knife was standing straight out of my leg...while pulling it out I spliced my hand while looking at the first spurts of blood coming out of my leg. Then I was fighting both the bleeding in my leg and hand......what a mess! A few minutes later I got things under control and drove myself to the ER...along with the stitches in my leg..I have 5 in my hand too. :stupid:

You're lucky it wasn't any worse than it is. Ahh, you'll have a reminder for days to come. Hope it'll heal well. And be more careful around knifes, huh. :)

Electricity knife?

Oh my dear, I'm glad that you are okay... Next time to pay your attention on knifes...

Whacking my head. What a dummy but no offense. Please do be more careful. I know too many ppl do get hurt from the knife. My mom and cousin did have knife accident. I am sure everyone else too. I even hurt myself with the knife by slicking my own skin on my hands.

Please be more careful and put the knife far away from the edge of the counter. I hope you are healing nicely.

I cringed when I read your accident... please recover fast, and stay away from sharp objects! ;)

Damn dude! Good Lordie! :ugh: I'm glad you are all-right! :(

:::taking notes:::: never pissed off a guy with a butcher knife. :Ohno:

ouch.. it is no fun to mess around with butcher knife. I used to work in restaurant for 11 years. I would know cuz i did have few accidents.. but lucky i was fast to move before it could come into my arms or my legs.. but not so lucky for my hands as both did have cuts before.. stupid me! lol..

dont feel bad if u think u r stupid.. just think safety next time.. do not put knife on or near the end of counter.. better to put on top of the cutting board (do not put on side) that way there will be no accident. :)

you are indeed very lucky! I hope you will get well soon! :)

Whoa! Be glad it didn't fall few inches, or a certain limb would have fallen off. doh! Have a good recovery and take it easy!

Ouch! I'm glad that injury didn't get any worse! Good luck on your continued recovery. ;)

No, GermanyChickie, It's a butcher knife-- bigger and sharper than an electricity knife. Trust me you never want to mess with a butcher knife.

I agree with you cant trust the butcher knife. I see it every day at work. :eek3:

I thought he mean electricty knife because he said that he has some stitches on him... it got me wondering...

I often had a little accidents with butcher knife... Occchhh... I wasn´t realized that butcher knife is dangerous than electricity knife... We have electricity knife... I´m too :Ohno: to use electricity knife because I feel that it´s too dangerous... it might chop my finger off... I prefer butcher knife or any shape knives... Sure, I had an accidents with shape knives... Electric knife, we got from wedding present but use it rarely... My hubby use it sometimes and cut cream cake neatly...

Ouch that's worse than me splitting open my finger joints on an X-acto knife when I got careless. I merely needed two stitches. Nowadays I keep the sharp end down :P

Damn!!! Both hand and leg! Geez... pls do careful tho!! Do speedy recovery!! Take it easy and relax and let men do the (er...did u girls say "he"?? Yikes!! Sorry! I mean let "women") dirty job for u!

Speedy recovery and get well!

Sorry Doug
