Bush: Terrorists may strike during presidential change
Updated at: 0445 PST, Friday, November 07, 2008

WASHINGTON: US President George W. Bush on Thursday warned that terrorists could strike the United States during the transfer of power to president-elect Barack Obama.

"We're in a struggle against violent extremists determined to attack us, and they would like nothing more than to exploit this period of change to harm the American people," he said in a speech to aides at the White House.

Bush cited the threat of terrorism and "economic challenges that will not pause to let a new president settle in" among the top reasons for which "ensuring that this transition is as smooth as possible is a priority for the rest of my presidency."

That soon ? Already ?

President George W. Bush need to put a lid on it.

No wonder he is a failure!

Well, if it indeed true, then they should consider alternative strategem for changing of power, IE secrecy of swearing in and ceremonies and public areas for the short time.

He's just trying to scare us. He did that same shit when he ran for his second term telling ppl to vote for him as one of the reasons to prevent terrorism into the US and yet, the war still dont go well and Bin Laden is still yet to be found anywhere since. He's not worth to listen to on anything.

Nope. Bush is on the way out the back door. No one is listening to anything he has to say. Even when he tried to reassure Americans after the economic crisis began, no one took any credence to what he had to say.

Shit...Dumbya is just like the boy who cried wolf

There once was a shepherd boy who was bored as he sat on the hillside watching the village sheep. To amuse himself he took a great breath and sang out, "Wolf! Wolf! The Wolf is chasing the sheep!"

The villagers came running up the hill to help the boy drive the wolf away. But when they arrived at the top of the hill, they found no wolf. The boy laughed at the sight of their angry faces.

"Don't cry 'wolf', shepherd boy," said the villagers, "when there's no wolf!" They went grumbling back down the hill.

Later, the boy sang out again, "Wolf! Wolf! The wolf is chasing the sheep!" To his naughty delight, he watched the villagers run up the hill to help him drive the wolf away.

When the villagers saw no wolf they sternly said, "Save your frightened song for when there is really something wrong! Don't cry 'wolf' when there is NO wolf!"

But the boy just grinned and watched them go grumbling down the hill once more.

Later, he saw a REAL wolf prowling about his flock. Alarmed, he leaped to his feet and sang out as loudly as he could, "Wolf! Wolf!"

But the villagers thought he was trying to fool them again, and so they didn't come.

At sunset, everyone wondered why the shepherd boy hadn't returned to the village with their sheep. They went up the hill to find the boy. They found him weeping.

"There really was a wolf here! The flock has scattered! I cried out, "Wolf!" Why didn't you come?"

An old man tried to comfort the boy as they walked back to the village.

"We'll help you look for the lost sheep in the morning," he said, putting his arm around the youth, "Nobody believes a liar...even when he is telling the truth!"

It's unpredict, there's terrorist under Clinton, it was WTC bombing in 1993.

It could happen or not.

Yeah... he's trying to put fear in our eyes.

He's probably trying to find an opportunity to become permanent president in case of "national crisis".

hahaha thats what it sounded like to me too. What a dumbass.

I have different perspective. He got HUGE blame for ignoring potential terrorist attack that happened on 9-11. He may have learned the hard lesson and be extremely cautiously with Terrorist activities than any other events. Well, it appears that Bush got double whammy, at first he got blamed for ignoring the threats, now that he got blamed for paying too much attention to threats.

Go figure!

lol whut?

Actually as i do think Clinton was a decent president, it's one of his fuck ups that he paid no attention to Bin Laden and Islamic terrorist groups getting up and running during his tenure, not Bush. Bush was only a year in his first term, after all.
