I never been banned in your forum before and hopes never will happen to me in future. (touch wood)

Do you give her/him a warning letter or just banned them at once without having an explaination first?

The more victims I came to see here thinking they don't deserved to be banned for 24 hours or so?

It gotten me to think they deserved to be explained why and what have they done wrong and listening on both sides first?
 
Usually a banned member is given an explanation via email but not always. I say not always because I believe almost all of them know why they were banned and there's no reason for me, or the mods, to waste their time explaining why after they were given a warning or two and/or were asked to stop what they were doing that was against the forum policy. 24 hours is, unfortunately, the minimum bannage time.
 
I believe that, it's supposed to banned from forum for 6 month after 3 or 4 offense, if not then banned for 1 years. Permanent Ban seems impossible that some deaf members make some mistakes and give an apologize via e-mail then give them deal with forum. Yea, I respect you, Alex.

I had been banned for 1 years at Playstation.com Message Board, from 2002 until 2003 because I was argued with many members because they make fun of me to being deaf and called my grammar is poor. They had no respect to me, or not friendly with deaf people. It made me mad then post new thread and explain like rant to them then admin make me to got banned. It seems rumor that violate of ADA if support with internet. That's really stupid. :(
 
I like what Alex doing with his Rules here and see this list, he fixed in Forum Rules and follow his OWN rules.

First offense - Warning
Second offense - 24 hours ban
Third offense - 48 hours ban
Fourth offense - 1 week ban
Fifth offense - Permanent ban

Why should Alex repeat to explain them why they have to ban since we have Forum Rules here?

I had a bad experience with one of forums for being banned without explain or warning, that's just because they claimed that I "violated" their rule. :roll: This is my 1st ban for long 3 months. There're many Rules in other forum which not exactly rule like what Alex and other Admin.(s) did in their own forums.
 
How do you know if "Randy" is banned from AD last year and he created his new userid via different IP address? I bet he improved his English grammar and checked his spelling via his computer and revised the vocabulary from his thesaurus. Maybe Randy would not able to attend to the AD party next month since he is afraid to lose his identify.

How does Alex and his elite Mods tell that it is really him that they have banned him before?

I am sure that AD policy is still flawed.

How comes AD does not believe in second chance?

They are human, not perfect, but I'm sure they do the best they can. Moderating is not easy.

Huh? According to the rules and penalties, offenders get second, third, and fourth chances.

A few members who were supposed to be banned permanently were given another chance and they're still here posting about.
 
Alex has been more than fair in this respect - there was one member that had been permamently banned in the past and was given a second chance - that member chose to go back to his old ways and was banned again with no chance of coming back.

There have been members that were banned here in the past, and all were given an explanation. Many changed their ways, and have had no problems since then. Some chose to leave on their own, some are still posting here.

It all depends on your attitude here.

I have never been banned here, or given a warning - just a hem-haw here and there...and most of them were so minor, it was just a matter of editing.

Again, it is how you behave here.

I think Alex has proven that people get plenty of chances, and as sovereign administrator, he certainly has the right to judge each case individually.
 
All victims as you call it, knows why they've been banned. They don't always need detailed explanations, I'm with Alex on this one, because he already established rules set in his forum. So, why would you need a detailed explanation? I firmly believe that Alex and the moderators banned those within reason.

I never being banned or get warning here because I know and respect Alex´s forum Rule.. .It´s same as I did with every forums with no problem except one favoristim forum.


I created a thread and posted 3 original screenshots direct to other forum Admin to prove it´s him who violated his own Rule today. Guess what, he lock my thread and threaten me in PM to ban me permanently... :rofl: I told him why he did not lock any threads where his members pasted other forum members´s posts/PM and talk negative about them and other forums in his forum but my thread direct him....? I think it´s very funny.... I laugh soooo hard... :rofl: Of course he can ban me whatever he likes because I never want to do anything with his forum...
 
I just got email... He banned me permanently from posting privileges... That´s just because I defend myself and also proofs of screenshots... Excuse me, I laugh sooooooooo harrrrddd... He claimed that I made intentionally stirring up trouble... What a childish.... I only defend my own reputation and prove them that it´s him who violate his own Rule, not me.

Anyone, if who interesting to read 3 screenshots then PM me.

I have never been banned from any forums except here on AllDeaf which is really surprising considering I have been fine on another forums for many years now. Maybe that is because I am a one of a kind Deaf man and many people come across all kinds of people from all walks of life so that maybe it. ;)
 
I definitely agree with Alex, and the others on this, and as Reba said earlier that moderating is not an easy job which I agree..

And DreamDeaf is correct, it's all has to do with how we behave...
