BABY FROGs!!!!!!!!!!

I know you are frogs lover. I need your advice how to feed frogs? I know my thread sound dumb! :giggle:

My young son Alan brought 2 baby frogs to us yesterday and call them Mr. Frosch und Froschlein. :squint:

He put 2 frogs and leaves and grass into paddle pool at our garden. It mean that I have to rid all of water from paddle pool to feed my garden then re-fill the water again into paddle pool. This paddle pool is suppose for us, not that frogs. :(

I am looking something for the frogs to live. Alan suggest me to dig to make small pond for frogs and fishes to live... I told him that the frogs wouldn't stay longer. Let frogs go where they come from, not at our garden.

Plenty of worms and crickets. You could easily get crickets from any pet stores. Speaking for worm, should be plenty in your back yard or go to the bait shop.

Crickets can be fun because you can see how toads and frogs catch em!

I happen to know because one of my weird best friend had three toads for years!

Oh, Leib!

Your thread isn't dumb at all! Unfortunately, I'm just as clueless as you are about how to deal with baby frogs.

I don't want you think you were dumb for asking for advice, though. It's better to seek advice than to "wing it", and potentially kill your pet. You may want to go out and buy yourself a book on the care and feeding of amphibians. That might help guide you.

Hope this helps! Good luck!

Oh, Coolie...We need your advice here.... :giggle:

Oh you are not alone!! My neighbor just freaked out that her daughter who is only 3 and really wants a frog!! She thinks she is all princess and must have a pet frog to match her fairy tale land for her bedroom. it is adorable!! but no idea how to feed or raise frogs..I am sure my boys would love to have a frog or snake!!!!

Yes, I'm agree that it's children's fantasy mind when they see frogs, spiders, etc.

yeah...why not use tweezers to hold the bugs out...I have chilids at home that needs to be fed with bloodworms.. they are digusting!!! After few days, I get used to it.. but its smell. ughhhh! :thumbd:

have you looked up on websites about how to take care of froggies?? your boy should have named one frog Kermit...

*goosebump* I can image that insects will come from jar to my hand fast as they can if I pick one of insects with tweezer :Ohno:

How long frog live with you in the house, Downing?

Did your daughter tried to kiss frog? Alot of girls think frog will turn into prince when they kiss the frog... :Ohno:

oh no I don't have a daughter. my neighbor does, she is same age as my oldest boy at three.

no frogs yet... I know my boy wants one.. we just got fishes and a puppy. No moreeeee for now! haha. I will just stick with fishes for now... The fishes will grow big and very aggressive. That is other story here.

I think the girl wanna kiss my boy and keep the frog!

I was young and used to be froglover. Loves picked the frogs up at the swap area when I was staying Deaf Camping.. My parents were freak it out and doesn't want me keep the frogs. I've seen Frogs loves eat any kind insects.

I recommend you try use different kind insects and put into the Aquiruiem(sp)*seal it* When Frogs will scent the insects and eat it. Make sure the require little air open and don't let insect escape. (chuckles)

Pretty long time my ages when I was young and loved frog-pet. (chuckles)
Espically My children really want weird animals in my house but I refused allow. *scoff sigh* Only I'm allowed normal animal alike Hamster or gerbil or dogs or cats wha..ever.

Interesting thread! As the saying goes: "learn something new everyday..."
Enjoy the baby froggers! Tell them I said "HI" or "ribbit ribbit"

Hey Liebling! Good question there. ;)

Markus's friend has a drawf frog. What type of frogs do your son has?

She gave me some suggestions for your son, First you would want to know what type of frogs do you have. And You could put the Frog in like a fish tank, First buy a bottle of dechorinating solution from the pet store, put few drops in it with tap water. Leave it there for 24/48 hours. Don't put dechorinating drops in while the frogs are there. Have to wait 24/48 hours before you can put the frogs in there....You could clean the water just like when when you clean a fish tank. But not too much. :)

She says that she buys live bugs from the pet store, which crickets. Or any other live bugs like flies, or you can buy food-flakes that sold at the pet store too. :)

Enjoy your new froggies. :giggle:

 @ this thread!! Oh my dear Liebling, I bet you would love to hear this unbelieveable story that I'm about to share with you here...And oh don't we all love our kids?...

When my first son was 5, he brought a frog in my house  and what I didn't know he had kept his little pet hidden from me for 2 weeks until the day I was cleaning his room up and I smelled something that was awful enough for me to search around his entire room to find out where this smell was coming from, of course I couldn't find anything under his bed, on his dresser or on his desk....once I had cleaned his entire room up then I started putting away his clothes, I opened the top drawer of his dresser, that's when more of that awful smell was coming from, then I picked up his socks and seeing a small coffee can laying on his underpants and other socks, at first I thought it might be a lighting bug or a butterfly cause I used to collect those and put them in tin cans when I was a little girl myself, so once I opened the lid, all I could see was a -------------- DEAD SMELLY FROG in there...Urrrrrrrggggg!!!.. :barf:

From that day on, I told all three of my boys to never bring a frog, snake or any creepy bugs into the house ever again until you let your mother know FIRST!! ...:pissed:

cooliefroggie probally will respond later on monday (i think).. she's busy with our son right now.. so

what i know is.. depends on what kind of frog u got.. is it a tadapodle? since u say baby frogs.. i assume its tadpodle.. if not.. if its an adult size frog.. feed them crickets, bugs, worms enjoy!

i went to Cooliefroggie and said "Attention Cooliefroggie Attention!"

ive already told Froggieboi of this thread and ur question Liebling -- when she gets the chance and have 5 mins to spare she will post with answers to ur questions :)

Will your son names those two frogs, Ravensteve and Miss * P.. ??
