Arkansas School to arm teachers

How would you know if it was CCW.

from my parent and they told my old school was fully gun free zone.

I believe that school districts may make decision to allow armed teachers or not.

That's rare, also it wasn't in city school that where I grew up.

I could ask principal if their school have armed teachers or not.

There was an armed assistant principal in Mississippi that stopped a mass school shooting.

I am right there with you. The posters claiming they would not send their child to a school with armed teachers ....don't have children.

The reason these mass shootings result in such a high number of casualties is because no one is armed to fight back. I would rather have a gun than hide in a closet unarmed.

There are many parents don't want armed teachers in school, including my parent as well.

Well, the school contain children and it is one of most sensitive area - it means police officers are highly trained that specifically for school.

We have police at schools around me. You'd probably be shocked at their lack of training. Requirements are pretty low and most of them are not great shooters.

"King County police officers can shoot straight;"

"57 percent of the first 150 officers tested failed"

"To qualify, an officer must hit 60 shots with no misses at a paper target shaped like a person from the waist up, with shots fired at distances of five, seven, 10, 15 and 25 yards. Some shots must be fired with the non-dominant hand."

25 yards max on the range and 57 percent miss the target!!

The school shooting cases are different, some cases are easy to handle and some cases are too complicated to handle.

Newtown case was complicated so have armed teachers will not make any better outcome.

I don't support armed teachers in school. :dunno:

Oh wow, those training need to be tighten, but I think after Newtown case, it may be happening.

Why? I've been posting tons of people that made a difference in real life situation very similar. Why was Newtown different?

I don't support armed teachers in school. :dunno:

I respect your opinion and your choice but this affect everybody. For that I need real supporting evidence.

Yea, I should have looked at the date on that article. I'm sure I can come up with something more recent.

Your claim isn't warranted enough to connivence me to accept that armed teachers are good idea because school shooting cases are different. It means you have to deal in different ways.

Yes, in Newtown case, there were many children involved so make more complicated and there not much expectation to stop the perpetrator.

The gun isn't part of teacher's job.

There where lots of people around in all the cases I've mentioned. Public crowded places, schools even.

If they are carrying concealed, there is no way to know unless they use a scanner at the doors.

Well, I guess if some nut decides to shoot up a school he'll know which one to pick.

That may be true but if it's school policy then they'll have to form their own gun-free "target-for-crazies" school.
