Another Shooting Spree

What hell is assault weapon means? It make sense to see assault rifle but media and people call it as assault weapon.

it can be samurai knife, brass knuckle, hammer, etc.

no such thing. license is required.

99.9% law-abiding citizens can't afford it anyway.

Oh really?

M16 and M4 carbine are full automatic, I think so.

yes and no.

military-version has both modes.
civilian-version has semi-auto mode.

yes if you have a Class III FFL license which is very costly.

No ffl is required just gotta fill out the right paperwork and either setup a trust or get your local leo to sign off on the paperwork. Some local laws may prohibit ownership. They are expensive like you say.

Yea, civilian semi auto is the ar 15. You can get a full auto m16 but i think right now they are going for about 13k.

oh you're right. Class III FFL license is only needed for transfer - most of times. The paperwork with BATF is a huge headache and the cost for both weapons + paperwork fees is $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.... probably over $8,000 or even $18,000 easy.

Paperwork is only around $200 but you are right they are in limited supply so i would believe 18k.

Oh wow. $13,000 is very expensive.

New AR-15 cost around $1,000.

no. usually around $4,000 for everything.

$1,000 is typically how much a nice handgun costs such as Colt 1911.

Probably cheaper to buy a used ak47. Cheap, dirty and effective.

It would be interesting in research or journals if they looked at ratio of attempted assault or actual homicide by certain guns. I would not be surprised this will happen in the future when these shootings become common.

Glock 18: 1 in 200,000
Sig Sauer P220: 0.5 in 200,000
AR-15: 3 in 200,000
M16: 1 in 200,000

if the above is too much work due to all the guns, something more broad like:

.45 Handgun: 11 in 200,000
9mm Handgun: 30 in 200,000
5.56mm Rifle: 10 in 200,000
.50AE Handgun: 1 in 200,000

etc..

I'm sure it's doable, just a matter of police/FBI sharing detailed incident information from the UCR.

I bought my Bushmaster AR-15 .223 more than 10 years ago from a gun shop. I brought a NRA magazine review with the suggested retail price listed. The gun had a price tag of about $1,100. I got it by showing the salesperson the article. Got it for about $950. It came with the 16" heavy barrel, carry handle and a 10 rnd clip.

They are currently selling in the $1,000 to $1,500 locally. Even AK-47 variants are decently priced depending on caliber.

Used SKS's are selling for about $400 more than last year.

Reba's new AR-15 .22L (flattop) with 25 rnd clip costs $395. :rifle:
