As things stand now, I may have to sit out this election. I'm not excited about any of the candidates.
I hope that four years from now we'll see some new names on the ballot.
Sigh....
Doesn't mean there wasn't merit to the complaints.![]()
We just don't knowIf it had no merit, try it and clear your name.
Perhaps it depends on what business you are in. But for a politician, sexual lawsuits are never good even if you are innocent. But in this case the public is leaning heavily to the guilty side.
A) He Cain wasn't a politician at the time.
B) They are saying the association made the agreement...not Cain

Blaming a victim, and discrediting an alleged victim are two different things.
Blaming a victim (which is wrong to do) can only happen after it's been proven that there was a crime and victim.
Discrediting an alleged victim (where a crime has not yet been proven) happens when trying to defend an accused by downplaying the veracity of the accuser's testimony.
Blaming a victim is an admission by the perp that a crime happened but that the victim "deserved" whatever happened.
That's not happened in the Cain case.
In this case a string of "association", or in other words, there is a trend that lend credibility to each other.
For example, if someone came up to me and told me my boss is a dangerous person to be alone with I would think 'ok, sure whatever'
If a second person told me the same thing I would think 'Oh, ok I will be careful'
Then a third person... I would think 'Uh oh, I need to make sure someone else is in the room with me next time'.
Add this up to 5 times and add in the comments that Cain made and I think you will see where I am getting the impression from. I don't personally hate Cain (never met him), but based on what I have heard so far, I am not be inclined to think well of him. And yes, we have to use past history to judge future behaviors. How else will we decide?

I recall Repubs made a big deal of Clinton's "I didn't inhale" college days. If you want to be the leader, prepare for intense scrutiny; from when you were a fetus up until now. It ain't fair but it is the truth.
Why did this association keep him around? Between his salary, and all of these severances, they could have hired someone cheaper.
The NRA would certainly be hit with a major lawsuit for firing someone due to baseless claims. Then again maybe the NRA said shoo gnat with a small check and the gnat shooed
And dot connectin' goes both ways.... A willingness to make the above assumptions without also considering the connections Stienhauer showed, indicates bias.
There are certainly some valid questions.... Like Bialek and Axelrod living in the same apartment building. She even admits seeing him in the gym. Might also add that a 505 Lakeshore Dr address is a pretty nice address for someone with so many financial problems.
BTW the person who confirmed Bialek was at TeaCon with Cain is a reporter for WIND radio...... You might want to check Bialek's connection there. Just sayin.
As for me and most other rational people, we will wait for the dust to settle.
If this can go either way, how am I wrong to have a negative impression of Cain?
Your choice....I try to keep an open mind when things can go either way.Sometimes we get what we deserve.Sadly, I agree. Four more years...of this?

Because it CAN go either way.Your choice....I try to keep an open mind when things can go either way.
There is a lot of damage done already and I really don't think Cain or his team is going to be able to repair. Suffice it to say, I'm not holding my breath.
ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -
Private investigator TJ Ward said presidential hopeful Herman Cain was not lying at a news conference on Tuesday in Phoenix.
Cain denied making any sexual actions towards Sharon Bialek and vowed to take a polygraph test if necessary to prove his innocence.
Cain has not taken a polygraph but Ward said he does have software that does something better.
Ward said the $15,000 software can detect lies in people's voices.
CBS Atlanta's Mike Paluska played Cain's speech for Ward into the software and watched as it analyzed Cain's every word.
If he is hiding something this thing would have spiked way down here," said Ward. "He is being truthful, totally truthful. He is a man with integrity and he talked directly about not knowing any incident he is accused of."
The software analyzes the stress level and other factors in your voice. During the speech, when Cain denied the claims, the lie detector read "low risk." According to Ward, that means Cain is telling the truth.
During the section of Bialek's news conference where she says, "He suddenly reached over put his hand on my leg under my skirt and reached for my genitals he also grabbed my head brought it towards his crotch."
During the analysis of that section the software said "high risk statement." Ward said that means she is not telling the truth about what happened.
"I don't think she is fabricating her meetings," said Ward. But, she is fabricating what transpired."
Someone mentioned Coretta Scott King just endorsed Cain. I can't verify it ...
What's interesting is that Cain, when asked, would take a lie detector test while none of the accusers spoke up and say the same thing. And if the Cain team is struggling I see no indication of that if you look at the donations that continue to pour in.

Nawwww, she told me in one of her nightly visits that she put a hex on him. Each time he makes a sexually suggestive remark, his penis shrinks. It won't be long before he tools around in a shiny new sports car. Sorry about your penis, Cain!![]()
I love your posts.
