Adjustable Light Bulb?

I know, point is, that this is LED, and the LED bulbs itself is so cheap. The more they produce, they becomes cheaper. Remember there is no single light temperature out in the market for everyone. Like Cool white, warm white daylight, etc LED has them all, and can change with just programming and chipset. They WILL get cheaper. Think of as built in package, it will happen.
yes. I can believe that everything will get cheaper but the point is.... this LIFX will not get cheaper.

Also, Uncle sam is trying to phase out these good o'le light bulbs as energy efficient strategies.
Uncle Sam is not "trying". It's the law now to phase out these lightbulbs.

Right, but as soon as you endorse the check to church, and the church made deposit, do you know exact what happened after this deposit was made? They first photography them both sides, then keep the paper check and transmit the check electronically. Its called 21 century check system. No wonder why you don't get cancelled check anymore. Unless you gonna pay extra for copy of cancelled checks.
Whoever gets the papercheck first has authorization to process the check usually scans that checks and keep for 2 years before destroy them. That is if I am thinking right.

cancelled check will still happen. it means you're making a payment via check that you don't have sufficient money in your account.

See what I mean, this is a way where society will have to adapt. It is inevitable, trust me. 25 years from now, we can talk more.

right. just like candle to lightbulb but the point is.... nobody is going to buy LIFX. It's not going to be commonplace.

That is thing in the past. The purpose of this is to prevent fraud, let me get link.

Surprised? It was phased in 8 years ago! No one even noticed but it is happening.

No one is going to see their original check ever again.

In the past with paper check, you have three days to ride though before you could deposit before it gets bounced. Not anymore, you have less than a day of window, perhaps hours. For instance you go to supermarket, and they are one of authorized, then can scan your check and deduct from your bank as it completes.

I know how it works. :) I can view my processed checks online.

Huh? I always have sufficient money in my account. I don't bounce checks.

Ah I have another perfect example, before 1980, there isn't any car that got computer in it, maybe prototypes and luxury cars, but that is a rare. I recall during 80's that people were so opposed to having computers in vehicles, their reason? Expensive to diagnosis, and if computer breaks down, very expensive to replace. Now, almost every cars on road now has computers, diagnosis gets easier and cheaper, now that it has cut the labor cost. And making it so efficient. You actually can reprogram your car computer to change horses, torque, whatever you want. Just saying that if it were pre-80's car, it will be mostly labor trying to figure out whats wrong, might take hours and hours to find out whats wrong while today, it takes seconds to find out whats wrong in most cases and the labor limited to fix the problem.

This concept applies with light bulb as I predicted. It appears that one found a way to make a universal LED that could emit various of light, and just add chip to select the color of light, and ability to reprogram it cuts the manufacturing cost significantly. The old bulbs, they were all made different, with different materials. comparing to just make all as a LED and set the color all in single assembly line. Is it possible? It looks like it is.

despite of "21st century" technology of being able to scan check electronically, a check can be bounced unless you're making a check thru online.

You dont get my point, it is not about bouncing the check. Im talking about the history of technology changes, and how society has adapted the changes. During the whole time 20th century, government banned the electronic transfer of checks. They had law that checks are required to physically transport them. If you watch the movie, "Catch me if you can" That con artist knew how the paper check were transferred, and made it go around the world, took two weeks for banks to realize that the check is fake. Frank Abagnale himself advised and encourage the concept of 21 century checking system. Uncle sam was opposed thinking that electronics aren't that reliable and not dependable. Now they have changed their mind and law. See? They have changed the minds of technology and they will.

Same with cell phone, I could collect more examples how technology has changed, and how we society have adapted.

again... necessity and luxury item. 2 different things. this color-changing LIFX is more of a luxury item than necessity... therefore I don't believe many households will have this feature. they'll stick with regular energy-saving lightbulbs.

most people have cellphones that can do text-message but a lot of them still do not have smartphone like iPhone.

sigh, you don't get my point just drop it.

beside.... we've had "adjustable lightbulb" for a few decades already...

ta-da!!!

Hey, think how many light bulbs in Vegas and other vegas style cities? It appears that somebody found a way to make a single bulb that can change colors, tone, illuminate levels, and so on. It is not about necessity and luxury. It is the idea of producing one that fits all.
Man, LED does have potentials.

I don't write checks for money that isn't in my account. Therefore, I don't bounce checks.

I've been writing checks for decades, and I've never had one bounce. I've never paid an overdraft fee or insufficient funds fee.

I have several of those in my house. Also, for lamps, 3-way bulbs.

No disco colors though.

but I've never said you do. I was just telling DHB that a person can still write a bad check despite of this technological advance.

the American way - simple and practical. none of these silly complicated thing for a simple thing.... :cool2:

True. I have a Blackberry, and TCS has a basic flip phone. I've asked him why he doesn't want a smart phone (other than the additional cost). He said because of his work, it would be too easy to break one, and they are too bulky. He needs a simple phone that he can quickly grab out of the holster with a sweaty dirty hand.
