I would like to go to AD caucus next year, IF I have the time. I would like to see it cost effective for all of us to partipant (sp). Good luck getting that together.

Since the AD Caucus is next year, If anyone notice that there are hearing members in this forum. Would they still be welcome to come to the AD Caucus, because I don't want them to feel uncomfortable if there will be a problem?

I have no problems with hearing members of AllDeaf going to the AD Caucus, because they are part of this community, I would welcome them with open arms. How about you guys? ;)

To shed a little light on Cheri's post, we were talking, and she insists that I should come to the caucus. I've told her I'm not sure how comfortable I would feel, or how welcomed I would be. She insists that no one would have a problem at all with hearies there, but I don't feel like I'd belong there.

As I stated before, the AD Caucus is for all AllDeaf members, their partners and families, and that includes deaf, HOH and hearing members.

There should be no problem with that.

:gpost: I just chaired a 45th Anniversary Banquet for International Catholic Deaf Association last weekend. It was held at a banquet facility. The menu selection was an Italian dinner, 5 courses, and that alone was 17.99, and the souveniers we expected to spend about 5.00 each. All in all, we charged 35.00 for each person for this event.
So there are many factors to be taken into consideration. As for hotels, they usually give a good group rate that could save you money, and there was a good idea passed around about having it all at the same place, and that could save you money too.
A combo price is a good idea. You could also do early bird specials to get money coming in faster too.
If you plan on setting up a committee to help you out, please let me know.

Are you guys going to provide voice interpreters for hearies, such as AJ and Cental? I don't want them sitting closely to me since they would provoke me for the updating live conference...

I do not know if they may hardly comprend the voice interpreters. Are you going to provide them a Cued Speach interpreters? IF they are not fluent in CS, Are you going to provide them a CART (Communication Access Realtime Translation)? Their fingerspelling may consume our ADers' times. How do we deal with hearies?

Why would they need voice interpreters? There are some deaf members who can speak very well and plus Aj and Cental knows sign language too. There will be no problems. We all are going to have so much fun. Play nice mld4ds Don't make me put you over my legs and spank you. :giggle:
