I found this website called "Golden Age Cartoons" in URL: http://www.goldenagecartoons.com

In the 1970s when I was a kid, I remember watching the 1940s "musical" cartoons or cartoons that have a narrator in them....for example, one of them was about "inventions" and showed how it works. There was a guy who spoke all through the cartoons telling you what it does. I loved those!!
I did noticed that some of the older cartoons were a little sexual....one of them had a character wolf-whistling at WWII pinup girl, Betty Grable. Some of them made fun of Hitler (who wouldn't!), and others have racism like comical black people. I think they don't show them very much anymore because of those issues in today's times.

Did anyone remember them as I did?

I remember some of those old-age cartoons. They were hilarious. They have a lot of historical significance to them. It's sad that we're being more picky with censorship. Ugh! :ugh:

Yes, I remember watching them in the 50's and 60's. I have a videotape with many of the "classics" on it. My grandkids don't like to watch it because the old cartoons were black & white, no color. :)

Yes I do remember and I loved watching them, and still love watching them...they are such a slice of Americana and we've progressed so far...but have we really? Look at South Park, the Simpsons, etc., etc...*smh*

Heh!

I've loved those golden cartoons... I would always enjoy them whenever it shows up on tv. I don't care about if there was any color or not. In fact, I much prefer older cartoon compare to modern ones those days. :) Even I'm only 20 heh

Oh Dear, thanks for bring a good memorizes. Of course, I do admire in Tom and Jerry cartoons. Interesting, that time I do not have closed captioned on the TV. When I was little girl, I always watched these old cartoons all the morning on Saturday. I said to myself, how could I enjoy it.

I assumed, I was fascinated to watch their characters and gesture with facial expression. I had white and black TV.

Nowadays, cartoon are horrible with violence and uglier faces. That is scared me ! :(
