Looking for a good part-time ASL program in the Boston area...

Awesome! I'm so new to this whole world that I almost don't know where to start, but I love seeing what's around me. That friend I mentioned that went through the NU interpreting program has worked at the Learning Center on and off for a couple of years now. She usually works summers and...

    Standardized tests

I've always wondered about standardized testing for native ASL signers. I'd imagine that there are some words that there just aren't direct translations for, so it would be a lot more difficult picking up the vocab. Good luck with the rest of your testing. The only way I can imagine...

Looking for a good part-time ASL program in the Boston area...

GREAT suggestions, guys. Thanks for those, especially that local Deaf events link, Cookie Monster. As it turns out, I decided to sign up for a 10 week course at DEAF Inc. I'm psyched to get started, and I'm already excited/nervous about that first real "Deaf night out", haha. It's going to...

    Need bit of help here.

I'd post it up on the typical "roommate needed" sites like craigslist, but put something about wanting a deaf roommate in the ad title. There has to be a lot of exposure to ads like that to both the hearing and the deaf community. At the very least, it can't hurt to have the ad out there...

New here and looking for a good, part time ASL program in the Boston area

Hi, I'm new here. I posted this over in the Learning forum, but I thought I'd post here too. I'm hearing, but I am really interested in the deaf community and learning ASL. Ever since I was introduced to the deaf community a little over a year ago, I have been drawn to so many aspects of their...
