Three things for this thread I want to see:
- This thread is must be stay clean, espeically stay on topic.
- Supportive comments & discussion are accpetable.
- On-topic debate is accpetable.
Any kind of religious (or religion free) people are also welcomed.
First off, your personal opinions regarding another's situation or any personal opinion/experience should be kept to yourself, please. There is no reason to flame theirs or mine.
Second, I DO NOT want to see any comment is related to eluovtion; "The Bible is a fiary tale" comment; "Your Bible is wrong" comment; etc etc. This is Christianity discussion/debate only. Again, thank you for understanding.
Anyway.. It's my first old eassy, it's almost three and half years ago. That was time I was a member of Creationism Club page, I did post with it there. I thought it could be nice if I share with you guys.
Here's my eassy.

Methuselah Data Error
Written by LilKabbitz05

That reason was because of some skeptic people picked on me when I re-told the common story about Noah and the Flood to some Christians yesterday (well, they were actually asked me about Noah’s Ark and the Flood). It was Methuselah’s time that they pointed at. I honestly don’t know when and what is a date of Flood or those biblical people’s birth and death dates. I, however, will do my best to explain as clear as I can. At that point, they claimed that Methuselah could survive during the time of Flood, and there was also a date error they claimed too.
First off, there is no way have a date error or Methuselah could survive the Flood. But how? I made a timeline for the Bible’s Flood event as an example. I went to start with Jared to Noah bloodline and to set it up with “0” to “1546” for timeline. If you are wondering why I skipped some information from Adam to Jared, because it’s too long to tell.
Genesis 5:15 - 31, 7:9-11, 9:28-29 (Old King James Vision)
15 Mahalaleel … begat Jared: … 18 And Jared lived an hundred sixty and two (162) years, and he begat Enoch: … 20 All the days of Jared were nine hundred sixty and two years (962) and died.
Okay, you see… Jared was born to Mahalaleel only 162 years before Enoch. I made an zero on the timeline for Jared’s “birth” date and at 162 years old when Enoch was born to Jared. Enoch also had Methuselah when he was 65 years old, but he didn’t die. Because God took him since Enoch was fully faith in Him and was always walked with God. So, I don’t count his age when he was taken. I only added a number, “65”, when Enoch had a child (not a firstborn child as they claimed). See the next one...
BIRTHS
0 - Jared was born to Mahalaleel.
162 - Enoch was born to 162-year-old Jared.
DEATHS
962 - Jared died at 962 years old.
21 And Enoch lived sixty and five years (65), and begat Methuselah: … All the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years (365): … 24 God took him.
So, I added Methuselah's "birth" date to that...
BIRTHS
0 - Jared was born to Mahalaleel.
162 - Enoch was born to 162-year-old Jared. ( 162 + 65 = 227 )
227- Methuselah was born to 65-year-old Enoch.
DEATHS
962 - Jared died at 962 years old.
25 And Methuselah lived an hundred eighty and seven years (187), and begat Lamech… 27 And all the days of Methuselah were nine hundred sixty and nine: and he died (969).
I added Methuselah's "death" date and his son's "birth" date.
BIRTHS
0 - Jared was born to Mahalaleel.
162 - Enoch was born to 162-year-old Jared.
227- Methuselah was born to 65-year-old Enoch. ( 227 + 187 = 414 )
414 - Lamech was born to 187-year-old Methuselah.
DEATHS
962 - Jared died at 962 years old.
1196 - Methuselah died at 969 years old. ( 227 + 969 = 1196 )
28 And Lamech lived an hundred eighty and two years (182), and begat … 29 Noah… 31 all the days of Lamech were seven hundred seventy and seven years (777): and he died. 9:29 And all the days of Noah were nine hundred and fifty years (950): and he died.
Add Noah's "birth and death" dates to that list, and I, again, added Lamech's "death" date.
BIRTHS
0 - Jared was born to Mahalaleel.
162 - Enoch was born to 162-year-old Jared.
227- Methuselah was born to 65-year-old Enoch.
414 - Lamech was born to 187-year-old Methuselah. ( 414 + 182 = 596 )
596 - Noah was born to 182-year-old Lamech.
DEATHS
962 - Jared died at 962 years old.
1191 - Lamech died at 777 years old. ( 414 + 777 = 1191 )
1196 - Methuselah died at 969 years old.
1546 - Noah died at 950 years old. ( 596 + 950 = 1546 )
Okay! I finally completed their “birth” and “death” dates for the timeline. Phew! Anyway… I want to say one more thing. Noah do have three children who obeyed God because they believed in Him, however, there is possible that Noah also had more children than just three children (Shem, Ham, and Japheth) that didn’t follow nor believe in God neither.
Now I made a simple information here…
BLOODLINE OF JARED AND NOAH
0 - Jared was born to Mahalaleel.
162 - Enoch was born to 162-year-old Jared.
227- Methuselah was born to 65-year-old Enoch.
414 - Lamech was born to 187-year-old Methuselah.
527 - Enoch left the Earth with God at 365 years old; no death date.
596 - Noah was born to 182-year-old Lamech.
962 - Jared died at 962 years old.
1191 - Lamech died at 777 years old.
1196 - Methuselah died at 969 years old.
1546 - Noah died at 950 years old.
Now... Take a look here. V V V
7:6 And Noah was six hundred years old when the flood of waters was upon the earth.
I added Noah’s “birth” date, 596, to the number, 600, is 1196. That was time of the Flood when he was 600 years old.
1196 - Methuselah died at 969 years old; the time of Flood
1546 - Noah died at 950 years old.
Clearly, there is no date error for Methuselah or he could survive the Flood.
In entirely fact, Lamech was died only five years before the Flood. However, the Bible didn’t tell me how Methuselah died. He may be either killed by the Great Flood or was possibly died of old age before the time of Flood as I presumed. For your information, I did count it four times to make sure I don’t make a mistake, even I did double check. Therefore, there is NO date error I made.![]()
Come and discussion! What's your thought on this?

Heh, I can't imagine if somebody else who lived more than a thousand years old. Oh, so holy moly!
