:devil: You know, I'm going to disagree with this and make it better! :D Act presidential, shel, you have a shopping list and I know it. Why not say it and require it be done (or else!)

This is what I propose:

Make all televisions and all programs require open captioning with words that are spelled correctly. Same with movie theaters. Limit the prices on popcorn and pop, too.
Make asl a requirement for high school graduation. You don't take asl, you don't get a diploma. Period.
Require parents of deaf kids to learn asl fluently before any consideration is made for a CI.
Wipe out the deficit as it stands right now and start over. Pork projects are history, just like New Orleans.
Public schools: Teachers will dress professionally and act respectful. Bring back the "board of education" at the principal's office. The kid won't be disrespectful after the first meeting, that's a guarantee! :deal:
Destroy all computers in schools until every child can read 100 percent at her or his grade level. This also goes for calculators; none of this finger-spelling, either. No child will be left behind, because if any can't pass their grade, their entire class doesn't pass and move to the next.
Kick sex education out of the schools and back into the homes, where it belongs. Make parents teach it to their kids using proper names of body parts and functions.
Deadbeat parents will be a thing of the past. They don't pay, there's a big fella named Moose waiting to have you (guys) model his project in prison; women, a gal named Gladys has a stretchy thingy she needs you to model there, too. Make yourselves comfortable. :whip:
No pay increases for Congressional members for any reason at any time without the prior authorization of voters, with 90 percent approving it. Voting will be mandatory or your pay is garnished at the 50 percent level for two years. If no vote in next election, the garnishment remains in place.
Workdays for ALL businesses will close promptly at 7 pm daily. None open on the weekends, unless emergency services only (gas stations; fire, police, ambulance, hospital; grocery stores -- not shopping malls or movie theaters).
Universities and colleges are tuition AND room and board are free. No charges for fees or books.
Guns made readily available for every man and woman who know how to shoot, so that they can assist the police at cracking down on crime. "No criminal left behind," in other words. :rifle:
Outlaw animal cruelty. No family farms will harm an animal and no drugs injected into them that the family wouldn't mind having injected into themselves. Treat all animals with respect and keep them happy and wanted. They are not to be eaten.
No child will be "unwanted." If married couples (one man and one woman) can't have a child, they are required to adopt and love at least one child.

Lastly, all the above, plus the ones I haven't thought of yet, are mandatory.
 
I would reject the talking language and force hearies people to sign. Also I would ban the CI, why not lol. :rofl:

I picked out Pek1's list as I agreed with some of his suggestions. I don't believe in guns as it is easy to steal guns from homes and use them in crimes. Deadbeat parents will not exist as the money will be garnished from the paychecks. I love the free tuituon but the taxes is going to be heavy. I like the idea of universal health care although it will increase taxes. Pek1, are you vegetarian like me? Love the no pay increases for congressional members unless voted for and no pork projects. One can always raise money for something like a memorial (like WWII memorial). I had to laugh at the asl requirement for HS diploma. Yeah, I really want the whole country to be like Martha's Vineyeard. CI might disappear. Not a problem for me.

If I am president then I will make sure that ALL schools are obligate to learn sign languages.

The sign languages are obligation to be recognized in EVERY job application no matter what because it's easier to communicate with deaf people everywhere...

If the business owners who want to be self-employer then they must go school to pass sign language examination before they are able to accept as business owner/companies or whatever.. .including hospitals, firemen, doctors, etc.

24 hours subtitles/CC are obligation.

Deaf and hearing children are obligation to being treat EQUAL...

If I were the President.....My changes would be simple and fair for all.

Since no one is exactly alike, How can we deal with the differences between us? (hearing and deaf)


I would make changes on how the deaf should not be treated like second class citizens, this world was create for everyone of us all, and nobody owns this world especially those hearings. The deaf should be able to learn the hearing language, and the hearing should be able to learn the deaf's language. After-all everyone would be happy and be apart of one big family in the world, treating each others with respect, civility, courtesy, and dignity.

Stop the judging and discrimination and give each others a chance know and understand each others. All of us are unique individuals

This would make the world a more respectful world. ;)

Sign language and Braille will be taught at all schools as a matter of course.

All Deaf and HOH babies will be taught sign language at 6 month and over and families will be required to learn too.

CI's for those under 7 will be totally illigal. For those age 7 to 18 their will be a lengthy assesment (without the parents involvement) to make sure that it's the child, not the parents who want the CI.

All deaf children will be taught in Sign language in specialised deaf schools. Reading comes second. Speech will be moved to 3rd place for those who who want it. Oral only programs for deaf will be totally illigal.

All Blind and Partially sighted children will be taught braille, Mobility and other skills they need. They will be taught at specialised schools until they are old enough to decide for themselves and have learnt the neccessary skills.

It will be compulsory to keep all tecnology such as Opticons, Tactiaids etc... in production to help deafblind people. All deafblind will get braille displays and/or Screen enlargements.

No deaf or deafblind will have to pay if they need a terp.

Other then that I would outlaw all animal testing, factory farming, and other forms of animal abuse. I would revelutionise the NHS so no more people die
due to leathally long waiting lists or drugs that kill rather then cure and would sack all incompetant doctors.

No, sack the idiots who spend BILLIONS of pounds on crappy computer systems rather than sticking with what works and putting that money into services and clinics for people who need meds.

Besides, you'd run out of doctors if you sacked the incompetant ones!

Yes, I am! I'm not quite at the place to be vegan, as being one is extremely difficult in a university setting with the meal plan included in the housing contract.

I wouldn't exactly make ASL mandatory unless I included a very good English program that uses a kind of sign language that helps students learn English and proper grammar.
