Dual Displays?

It's only anime and I don't need super powerful HD graphics just to watch it. ;)

Actually. If your CRT TV died, you'll end up buying LCD tv which will be much better than ur antique boob tube LOL. I'm sure you'll benefit this on LCD or DLP whichever.. It'll works on any size flatscreen tv as long as it have jack for PC/Laptop video connection..

Yeah, I see that, pointless... same reason why I didn't use it. Probably for add on huge monitor then it would be useful.
It may be off this topic, My Acer Aspire laptop allow up to 4 split screens on one screen or it can use external screen along with it's own LCD screen. Called Acer Gridvista. I don't use it... it came with my lappy tho..

When I move back to Texas, I'll use my second computer monitor instead... which already is better quality. :)

My monitor is 17". Me and someone else bought the exact same set-up. She got a new laptop and gave me her old set-up. So, I have exactly 2 of everything... which I merged. I will be using the other monitor soon. ;)

Dang man... I wonder... could it be possible to hook up a laptop to the tv? Just curious...

Yes, but it depends on what your set-up is.

Most laptops have a port for regular computer monitors. Some might have a special port that allows them to connect to televisions. I have a S-video port.

If you happen to have a Flat Screen TV set.. Look behind and under it. You should see similiar D-jack (Some model do have it). You can purchase a "Male/Male D-jack cable to hook up from your lappy to Flat Screen TV.

VERY few TV set like Gateway, HP ect are a monitor itself. One of my friend have 27" Gateway TV/monitor. He only hook up his computer. It is expensive to buy one. Right now it's obsolete cuz Flat Screen TV already have built in jack for computer.

You need to have HDTV to make hook to laptop via VGA.

If not then use composite or S-Video to SDTV but resolution would be crappy.

It called VGA for analog, DVI for digital.

Ahh interesting... I might see what I can find to try this experiment... hmm tempting....

Have a 19" and a 17" monitors (Samsung SyncMaster 191T and Compaq FP745A hooked to one AGP 4x card, DVI and VGA respectively) and my screen is stretched out as one whole big desktop lol. 2048x768@50. I used a special program called Envy to automatically configure and install the proper Nvidia driver for my vidcard cuz I'm running Ubuntu Linux.

I will be hooking up my second monitor soon. It's the exact same as the first one. With that, I'll have a perfect dual monitor set-up. ;)

Ummph. Envy.. I'll check that out. I'm using Ubuntu Feisty Fawn 7.04. I just posted about VirtualBox and Ubuntu. Check this out!

Catty.

I used two monitors at work, for desktop publishing. I'd use the vertical screen for full view of page layout, and the smaller one for text editing. That was during the early 1990's.

Reba, can this screen go or be turned to the horizontal, too? Just curious....

It depends on the type of the computer.

I have dual monitors at work, one of the monitors can be horiztontal. Even wider XD

UPDATE:

I bought a few different versions of VGA/DVI adapters. Unfortunately, they don't work.

It turns out that the video card only allows the dual display set-up to work with S-video only.

On the back, I have a port for VGA, DVI-D, and S-video. the VGA and DVI-D are for single use... not dual. So, I am unable to use my second computer monitor.

I am going to have to look for my second video card so I can do the trick. :(
