Hello, I want to share this news with you.

This afternoon I noticed my older cat Tiger's gum were bled. I called the clinic and they were no longer there. I had to call another vet or hospital to see if they can let me bring my cat in since it was an emergency. they said yes.

I asked my friend Jen to drive me to the animal hospital, she came and took us (me and Tiger) to the hospital. They saw how bad the gum was. It swell really bad. We (Tiger, me, Jen) went into the room with Doctor.

Doctor checked Tiger's mouth and gum. I said to Tiger it s okay. The doctor said no he isnt okay. I looked at him and said what? He said "he have tumor" I was shocked and stunned. I said tumor? Jen caught the dr said and paged my gf Spicy and told her. The doctor said that Tiger could live for another 3 or 4 months or put him sleep. I started to cry and had to make the decision. I said to dr "put him sleep? if u remove the tumor then what?" He said "If I remove it, the tumor will grow again and again. Theres nothing that we can do abt it." I cried more and more. I looked at Jen and told her that I had to since he was in pain and cried few times. She agreed with me. The doctor said okay and will get the paper work for me to sign for Tiger to put sleep. I cried and cried. I talked to Tiger to keep him company for few mins. The doctor came back with the paperwork and the syringes. One syringe is no move at all but can see him breathing. Another one is to stop the heartbeat. I stayed with Tiger while they shot him the first one. I tried to close Tiger's eyes but it stayed open. Then they were ready to give another shot to stop the heartbeat. I put my hand on his chest where the heart were at. I felt it stop and I cried so hard. Jen cried too and held me.

Next week, I go back and pick up the ashes and buried it in my backyard.

Tiger, Mommy always loves you. I shall never forget you. I will make sure to keep your sister company.

Rest in Peace Tiger 4/1/94 - 12/12/06

Aww hon, I'm so sorry to hear about Tiger, I had to put one of my kitten to sleep a couple of years ago so I know how you feel girl  ....Again I'm truly sorry Red may Tiger rest in peace :( ....

You did what you felt was best for your cat...putting him where 'peace' reigns and not prolonging the suffering. It's hard, I know...yet, you did the best thing you could do for your cat. Am sorry it turned out this way, but hang in there and cherish the good things of Tiger, the days/nights you were able to watch him play, to cuddle with him, etc.,....

Will keep this 'sticky' for the time being--

Sorry to hear about that.

Bury the ashes? Why don't you spread it in the wind at Tiger's favorite place if he has one? This is just a suggestion.

If I had a dog that I always had fun with at the park, I would wait for a windy day and spread the ashes in the wind as I "walked" through the park as if I was at the park with my dog. That way, my dog would always be in the park.

Tiger's fave was the backyard. He always walked around and lay down on the stoop to feel the sun on him. So thats why I decided to buried it.

Aww...Flammer

I'm so sorry to hear what happened to Tiger, I can understand your experience the loss of your cat, I've been through that before myself, it's a great loss, because when a pet dies, we lose a member of the family. :(

I remembered the time when I had to put my hamster to sleep, I had experienced a range of emotions from being numbness that I had no other choice to save my hamster, so I can related to you, do understand your emotions about Tiger. You're in my thoughts hun.

Oh no, how old is your cat, tiger ? It must be so hard for you to make the decision to put him sleep. I took my cat, Garfield to the vets yesterday for annual exam and vaccine. He gained some pounds. I saw my husband wrote to the Vets dr about his concern Garfield's health. I miss Andrew because of his handwriting to communicate with the doctor. My husband always went to that vets with two cats, he loves the cats !

Glad, Garfield is in a good health. I never heard of the gum bleed. I will remember this. Thanks for sharing about your cat with us.

Will you get another a new cat to keep you company? My Dad has his cat for 19 years, we get him a new black kitten to keep him company. He is 75 yrs old, we did not want to see him to be lonesome.

Hang in there !

I am sorry about your loss. :(

At least he is not suffering anymore...he may peace in cat heaven
