Gallaudet: Losing deaf culture???

I'm more concerned about Gallaudet University's education quality. It's sickening, not the enrollment of more hearing students.

Do you agree that the introduction of more hearing students would increase the education quality?
 
Is it a surprise that the "goal" of much better education for the deaf/Deaf/DEAF persons was not actualized even though Gallaudet has installed Deaf president?
Would a follow up by Oliver Sacks: Seeing Voices-Chapter 3 be instructive?

i was under the impression that he says DEAF because he doesn't believe in the deaf/Deaf division.

The Prez of Gallaudet is from CID. So is the Prez of NTID. Is there a pattern emerging?

Are they CID alum or were they president of it? you know, even a lot of the oralists are OK with ASL..Meaning they're not as audist as say auditory verbal " ASL is for "kids who can't function well enough to speak" style oralists. Granted it IS still very audist....and the right way needs to be with ASL PLUS good quality speech and Clarke style education.
 
I just read through some Deaf blogs for ASL stories via Google but, somehow I found the link about CI Online. I feel a bit of disturbed that someone viewed the Deaf community as an inferior. Especially a movie about mocking "primitive" Deaf people and modern deaf people (Yeah, I found an another entry from the same link, see below. But I hit "X" by accident and lost it.). :roll:

I am sure that there are some more...

But, sorry, I have to agree with that blogger because I doubt ASL signers will be here forever... because of how advanced technology goes.

I have mentioned before I am bilateral DEAF since December 20, 2006. To me the condition 0f silence-not some Imaginary "friend". Seems some don't agree. That doesn't change my condition.
