At my work many ppl speak to me if I missed them tell me something I would ask them repeat if I can undy only word but sentence I couldn't and ask them to write cuz I am *deaf* , co-workers some I have used work with I can undy them and they do me but new one have to write.

I would say "Im sorry I didnt hear what you say. Can you say that a again please." No problems. I hate when ppl come up to me and see my hearing aid then talk to me slowly like im retarded. Gah I hate that badly. I just say "Hey im not retard just speak normal I can understand you know." Also some ppl talk shit about you when they behind when they thought you cant hear for shit. I always bust them when that happend. Some ppl out there are stupid. Also they go shocking when I speak very well. That never stops. Oh well.

i ALWAYS point to my ears and shake my head in the negative to make it clear that im deaf and smile as politely as i can manage to be and walk off -- i know its generally rude to do that -- but ahh i DONT feel like trying to communicate with hearies when they try to act so STUPID to begin with *rme*

(hearing people) no signs nothing but a person who speaks to you.

I get really mad when someone says, "I told you!" making the assumption that I wasn't really paying attention when I ask for something to be repeated or clarified. If you want to push my button, this is the way to do it.

I also hate when people say, "Never mind." when I ask them to repeat something.
