Don't forget, kokonut, I am in favour of of such policy. I was only trying to explain the Deaf can easily lose their language rights when people see deafness not as a disability.
So, comparing Spanish to ASL on the grounds of "deafness is a disability" is a dumb thing to say.
I will leave the rest of the language debate to you. My country already made English and French as de jure languages. We seems to amble along fine.

That's an employment law case for wrongful termination. A completely different area of the law. The basic idea is that an employer cannot make up an excuse to fire someone. Are you in favor of arbitrary and capricious employee termination? If so, support the employer in this case.
Can anyone creditably assert that Wal-Mart is a fair employer? If so, that person is not familiar with all of the corporations labor violations, including locking employees in the stores overnight and forcing employees to work off the clock.

Polls schmolls. Completely unreliable.
Immigrants are more likely to be victims of crime than perpetrators. They are vulnerable because they must deal in cash and are afraid to contact police.
Consider that these people are your neighbors. They work in your fast bakeries, food joints, lawn services, etc. Why harass the little guy? If politicians really wanted to end illegal unemployment, they would punish the employers. Many (most?) politicians don't want to end illegal unemployment because business wants it. The whole debacle is just a show. Bread and circuses.
never heard of "U.S. regulated" schools. Do you mean "federally-funded" school? or state-funded school? There are private schools... and home schooling... not primarily taught in English.
Rather heaping contempt and disdain, why don't you just show the federal law that contradicts what Barbaro said? Sheesh. As impressed as we all are, the internet already has enough tough guys as it is.I laugh with utter contempt and disdain at people like you. I am old enough to remember walking into walmart when EVERYTHING was written in English.

It wasn't until illegals became a problem in this country when they started demanding "their" rights. Liberals helped them right along (you should review aiding and abetting laws).
Here is a valid point for you. If you decide to move to another country, learn their language.
Otherwise, shut up, illegally enter China and demand they speak english.
Did you know it is required to learn English under current immigration laws?
Other than that ...... good on your mom for reporting those illegals.

I've heard of public schools because it's where I graduated from. all state schools. but Reba and I have never used of "US-regulated" schools. You never heard of public schools?
Okaaaaay.
Well, is English taught at Gallaudet as a foreign language? Or, are Gally students required to pass the EPT in order to attend College level courses?
I still have not misunderstood anything.
Does Gallaudet have a "Foreign Language Department"?
Is Spanish considered a "foreign language" in America? What about Mexico?
Is English considered a "foreign language" in America? What about Mexico?
Are U.S. Government employees required to speak English?
Are road signs written in English? Is English the "native language" taught in our public school systems? Are languages other than English considered to be "foreign" languages?
Yes, I know, ASL is the exception, but it stands for AMERICAN Sign Language. Is ASL considered a "foreign" language by the U.S. Government, or the language of Deaf Americans?
Now .... would you be awfully thrilled, if there was a large group of "illegal" Brits that attended Gallaudet that started demanding (and suing) teachers for not signing in BSL?
For Reba - interpreters in hospitals for foreign languages is common. Interpreters in U.S. Courts is also common (and required). I was not referring to the language used by foreigners needing to be interpreted, I was referring to the language used by Americans - which is English.
Courts are conducted in English. Prescriptions are written in English.
Now, anytime you purchase .... anything, it has instructions in English and Spanish.
15 years ago ..... nope. Why do you think that is the case?
I know, ASL is the exception (but not really). AMERICAN Sign Language is considered a foreign language in England. If illegal Brits suddenly and in large numbers attended Gally and demanded that teachers and students accomodate them by signing in BSL, would you be awfully thrilled? Or, would you (correctly) feel that since they are now HERE, they should learn the language?

um.... let me ask you something first - what is the official language in The United States?
You mean the language that was used to author the U.S. Constitution? Gettysburg Address? Bill of Rights? Preamble?
The language used for our national currency? road signs? Textbooks (other than foreign languages)?
That would be the language I am using now.
