I had troubles sleeping too and I eventually realised the following:
(during week I go to bed at 11pm)
- no caffeine after 6pm
- no sports after 8pm
- no PC / TV right before sleeping! at least half an hour of *calming/relaxing* time.
I am used now to have my shower right before going to bed, then read some more and then turn off the light.
It now only takes me about half an hour to fall asleep, sometimes less.
You have to see what is going on. If you have thoughts going on in your mind, then it is kinda normal you have a hard time falling asleep. If you really notice that your nerves aren't good right before going to bed, then I'd suggest you get medical help.
