Marijuana

They still smell of it. And if they eat brownies, you can smell it while the brownies are cooking. You can also smell it when someone is rolling a joint because the THC is sticky and gets stuck to their fingertips so then the oil of their fingertips or the heat causes the smell to spread.

no.... that's not what Byrdie's asking. Just because you smell it doesn't mean the person is under influence of it. For example - just because you smell my beer doesn't mean I'm drunk or impaired by it. What if I drank only half the can? To say that the person is under influence means he/she is affected by it thus their functions are impaired.

is the person's cognitive function impaired? is his speech slurred?

Hypothetically speaking-- Let's say I smoke some pot and go get cleaned up. Shit, shower and shave.

Can you still tell if I am stoned or not? Even if you never meet me?

I can smell it on people after they've showered.

Uh--better read Jiro's post. He summed it up better than I did.

Remember that there are responsible marijuana smokers and non-responsible marijuana smokers.

The responsible marijuana smokers usually smoke at home, and stay at home.

The irresponsible marijuna smokers do the opposite.

Secondly--marijuana does assist those with medical conditions and should be available for those that need it. To ban that is denying the ill person the right to be comfortable......

Therefore I support medical marijuana......

Likewise.

1. major difference is.... vicodin is narcotic. marijuana is not.
2. narcotic is addictive.
3. and yes you can be addicted to caffeine (chemically) but not marijuana.
4. You can experience withdrawal symptoms on vicodin and caffeine but not marijuana.

to say marijuana is addictive is like being addicted to drinking water or breathing oxygen. :laugh2:

I only smoked once and it gave me a bad headache the next day so I didnt like it. Hoever, I do like the high the Vicodin gives me but knowing that I come from a family of addicts, I am careful.

:laugh2: oddly enough - marijuana caused me to have a hallucination... a pretty bad one. I have smoked it perhaps 3x? and it kept teleporting me back to Vietnam War. i don't know why????? I wasn't even born in 1970's! maybe it was my past life???? I was the American soldier in fubar mission and it was so real that I was scared shitless. beyond shitless.

hold me :cold: and of course.... I don't smoke it anymore and I don't do drugs and I don't drink. but I do smoke cigar once in a while :smoking:

Maybe you were watching Forrest Gump before you first smoked it and it stuck to you lol

I still haven't done any defined by law "illegal drugs" to date, although I've been given the opportunity to try weed in the past. I declined back then due to my anti drug outtake on the world, which was a little extreme I admit but that was back then.

Nowadays I'd be willing to try a hit just to see whats it like out of curiosity's sake. I'm pretty sure I can hold myself from getting addicted to it but hey, talk's cheap. But part of me says I'm not sick, I don't have problems, I don't see the need to toke someone else's pot just for personal benefit. If I got in the shape to need some marijuana, then hey I am going all in with my chips.

high from vicodin? ive had that a bit for a broken ankle and an abcessed tooth but it never made me high. usually makes me fall asleep.

as far as marijuana and the big drug companies trying to keep it illegal, if it ever did become legal to own or use im sure theyd first on the boat to get in the business of growing and marketing it just to keep their profit margin up.

that's the problem. marijuana is easy to grow in your own backyard thus - not much profit for pharmaceutical companies. all you have to do is buy a flower pot with weed or get your own seeds. that's why they pushed very hard to ban it.

and btw - that is what high feels like. you get so high that you felt sleepy/hazy/out-of-touch-with-reality.

i was on vicodin following both of my ci surgeries. it gave me a little bit of a buzz, but not much.

that's what my auditory hallucinations (voices) are like. NOT fun.

that's right. when i lived in my first apartment with my ex-boyfriend, we lived near a couple who smoked marijuana. we could smell it in the air all the time -- even when they weren't home. it was disgusting. :barf:

Jiro and Byrdie, the point I'm trying to make is that just because I'm blind does not mean I am oblivious to people's drug use. I am aware of when people are stoned. I can smell it and hear it--my blindness does not keep me from knowing what's going on around me.
