Marijuana

Yes, They were very effective on this but yet, I find this ironic because over and over again, I see that marijuana itself has had a lot of positive feeds. Yet, the pharmaceutical companies are the one that is trying to prevent it to be legalized because money talks. If marijuana is legalized, the pharmaceutical companies will lose a lot of money as well.

Also, once its legalized, drug dealers wouldnt make money off .

Ok, I'm not even seeing the point of arguing about marijuana addiction.
Aside from people using it for negative purposes, why do we have to care if you're *even* addicted to marijuana for health reasons?
Other than overdose, but I don't really see a concern even if someone was moderately *addicted* to marijuana and on it for medical reasons.

As Kenny said, overdose means death. There's really no other detrimental effects otherwise aside from losing some cells but you lose those everyday even as you breathe the oxygen in the air. So what gives?

I'm not determining any scientific explanation of addiction. That is exactly where you are misunderstanding me. I am saying that it is visible in people's behavior. That is the only level of addiction I'm talking about here, the level that is easily observed by friends and family members (whether or not they happen to be a mental health professional.)

you are claiming it's a "psychological addiction." IMO - it's baloney. Again - I'm repeating this like a parrot.... for decades - NO scientific & medical studies have been able to prove marijuana is addictive.

period.

I can show you otherwise. My dad, my brother, people in my school.

and..........? what did the medical professional say? did they say "marijuana addiction" ?

I'm not going to argue anymore with you because you only seem to validate people with medical degrees of some sort, and the observation or opinion of anyone else has no bearing in your book. So there's no point to discussing the meaning of addiction in a non-medical context with you, since you seem to bring it back to the medical context of addiction, which I wasn't even discussing to begin with.

Also, once its legalized, drug dealers wouldnt make money off .

That's true.

You know, You brought up an interesting question for me to ponder. I have to wonder -- When it's legalized and these drug dealers would not be able to make money off it; Does that mean that it would be safer for everyone? Would that also mean these drug dealers would be resorting into something else that is illegal to make money off from it? Would that also make a difference when it's legalized?

Jiro and Nika --

You both have some valid points there but - Let's just agree to disagree, okay? :)

They will continue with the other illegal and more potent drugs like meth, coccaine, herion and the other shit that I want to stay illegal.

ok. there's no point in discussing the addiction in way you want because for decades - none of scientific & medical studies have supported your statement - not even remotely. everything is medical. to make it non-medical is nothing but fallacious and a cheap attempt to illegalize it..... like pharmaceutical companies.

are you.... paid by Pfizer? no wait... Procter & Gamble?

Marijuana has a pretty distinct smell. I can smell when people are smoking it. I can also hear the sound of people inhaling the smoke and passing around the joint. Blindness does not mean oblivion.

But if they are not smoking it--how can you tell if they are "under the influence" or not?

Indeed.

The problem is - There are a lot of politics involved in this. They will argue and to claim that marijuana is not safe. Sure, Marijuana may have it's own complications but it is no different than any other substances that are held out there.

What they don't realize is - It can be maintained and enforced but however, the question is - Just exactly how can it be met on a medium and/or a common ground?

Actually it is being meet. When an individual signs up for medical marijuana--the State will know about it because the doctor has to notify the Health Department due to marijuana/marinol being a narcotic. It is permissible in this state. You would get a card stating the you have the right to marijuana for medicinal purposes.

Secondly--it's very regulated. There are shops under the State that sell marijuna to medical users and you get your prescription for the month.

Since you said you hate drugs. What about prescription drugs you have taken before?

Prescription drugs are far high deaths rate. 100k people died annually from overdosing on prescription doses.

Yes, That also will not be surprising either. I was just wondering how different it will be when if marijuana is ever going to be legalized.

Honestly, I think the the war on marijuana has been lost a long time ago.

Ah, I have heard about this from elsewhere. In this state, it is illegal.

Also, from what I hear - They say that even though the marijuana shops in some states that are legal for medical purposes are also not being recognized on the federal level for it to be in order to be legal.

And people have gotten addicted to prescription drugs...*gasp*

Seriously, weed is the same as prescription drugs..some people get addicted to it and some people dont. I have taken Vicoden but I am not addicted to it but yet, I am addicted to caffenine...go figure!

That's right and it's all "hush-hush" now. Sometimes the shop would change locations and do notify you.

Sometimes they would drive to your house to sell marijuana for your medical needs if things get "too hot". :cool2:

But if they are not smoking it--how can you tell if they are "under the influence" or not?

They still smell of it. And if they eat brownies, you can smell it while the brownies are cooking. You can also smell it when someone is rolling a joint because the THC is sticky and gets stuck to their fingertips so then the oil of their fingertips or the heat causes the smell to spread.

1. major difference is.... vicodin is narcotic. marijuana is not.
2. narcotic is addictive.
3. and yes you can be addicted to caffeine (chemically) but not marijuana.
4. You can experience withdrawal symptoms on vicodin and caffeine but not marijuana.

to say marijuana is addictive is like being addicted to drinking water or breathing oxygen. :laugh2:

Hypothetically speaking-- Let's say I smoke some pot and go get cleaned up. Shit, shower and shave.

Can you still tell if I am stoned or not? Even if you never meet me?
