Marijuana

I'm sorry that i have watched people screw themselves up on the !@$#%^ Please EXCUSE ME.

yea people have screwed themselves up on many things - excessive gaming, drunk driving, gambling, tobacco, excessive eating, so on... all bunch of legal things that people screw themselves up on.

Maybe no studies but i have seen people where it has happened.

not maybe. studies have been performed and so far - it has failed to prove that marijuana is addictive. Cigarettes are far more addictive and destructive.

And excessive sex.

Exactly....

I dont do it and I dont wish to start but I am not against it. I would be an hypocrate if I tell people it is wrong if I drink alcohol myself. I just wish it wasnt illegal.

I agree that it isn't the marijuana itself that leads to addictive behavior. Addictive behavior is a pattern and can happen with almost anything. Whether or not it's legal makes very little difference. After all, people become addicted to tobacco and alcohol, which happen to be legal, and people become addicted to marijuana, which happens to be illegal.

Speaking of Marijuana with the Economic situation -- I thought this was an interesting read.

Costs of Marijuana Prohibition: Economic Analysis

I believe that legalizing marijuana will definitely help boost the economy.

Not too long ago, I watched a documentary film called "Super High Me". It's about a comedian who undergoes a before/after use of marijuana experiment phase. He has to be totally sober for 30 full days undergoing through series of tests such as memory test, physical test, breathing test, so and on. When his 30 days of being sober is done, He undergoes on the next 30 days of being stoned 24/7. He also was taken to have these tests while being stoned.

Anyway, On that documentary - It also brought up some interesting facts. It was said that alone in California, the marijuana can bring up to $1 Billion (I think? I'm not sure since it's been a while I've watched the film) to the state of California per year. At that point, I was like - WOW! That is a lot for only one state. Just imagine how much it would bring in for the rest of other states as well?

but point is - scientific studies have NOT been able to conclude that marijuana is ADDICTIVE. Tobacco is addictive because of nicotine. but marijuana? nothing. how do you get addicted to something that is naturally grown from earth?

You can become psychologically addicted to the stoned feeling. Just like you can become addicted to sex, there is nothing about sex itself that is physically addictive. People become addicted to the feelings they have during or after sex. I know it's not physically addictive. I'm speaking on the psychological level.

Yes, it needs to be legalized and taxed...there is a high demand for it.

what was the conclusion?

The breathing test while being sober and stoned was a little bit different. His breathing level while being stoned was a little less than being sober.

As for memory test -- Surprisingly, His memory was performed better being stoned than he was being sober.

As for the physical test of taking blood pressures, so and on - The results were pretty much the same or on a medium level.

I'd recommend for anyone to watch that movie to get an idea or a perspective of this issue.

Do I hear Jillio coming? :giggle:

Just like people become addicted to gambling, caffine, and etc...cant blame it on those. I gamble but I am not addicted to it but I am addicted to caffenine...if people get addicted to weed but can function, then great..it is better than being addicted to gambling or sex.

I'm sorry but are you a licensed psychologist? or psychiatrist? I don't think you are qualified to say that. beside - none of scientific studies have said anything like yours. please stop inventing things.
