Seems like every deaf person I meet is a pothead

I know a LOT of potheads myself including my roomie. I would love to have either a bong or a hit but since my job has random drug testing, the pot has to go. O well but at least I get to use pot as an insult at work anyways. I often ask someone who made the mistake that I find "How's the bong"? they go squirm lol

I used to be so-so pothead before i met my wife in 23 yrs ago but i did slipped once in about 18 to 20 years ago and never do it again ever since!!!!!! Oh well! We cannot stand smell the ciggies UGH!!!!!!!! I used to be smoker but i quit in cold turkey when i met my wife also! :thumb:

Cool! I never heard of it :)

Yupp Yupp :)

Regardless of how big or small the deaf community are, You are always bound to run into different types of people. It goes for every kind of various communities as well. As small as the deaf community is, it may seem like there are a lot of potheads among us but that's not always the case.

Personally, I know a lot of potheads around here but does that make me get myself in that predicament? No. I can be friends with them and do activities with them but as far as for getting to take a toke, That is when I will refrain myself from doing so.

If they respect me for not taking a toke, then I'm cool with them.

Of course, Deaf community are not always an pothead's community, there's always an different deaf person just like an hearing person.

When I was in the hearing world full time before I learned ASL, I knew so many hearing people who were potheads. My dad and his friends used to smoke pot on the weekends after bowling all night. My ex hubby was a pothead in high school. There was this group of kids who were known as the "Stoners" in high school. We all know what they did in their free time cuz they would go to the park and get a couple of puffs in between classes.

Yea, I have some friends who are potheads but I dont hang out with them when they do it cuz I dont want to get into trouble with the law.

Wait.... are you complaining, Alex? *smirk*

Well, i wont lie... when i was at gallaudet it seemed that way too. Best one-year vacation i ever had.

This is getting interesting. Maybe Alex is going to start random drug testing in AD.com and those who are positive must enter a 12-step rehab program.

It was that way when I was at RIT.

Almost every deaf person I met thought that fun meant beer and weed.

For instance, it's a Friday night. So, I say... "Hey, let's go watch that new OC movie!" What do they say? "Nah, I'm going to this guy's party. There's gonna be beer and weed! Yeah!"

It's Halloween night and my friend invited me to a small Halloween party so we can play games and watch horror movies. All the hearing people that were invited came. All the deaf people that were invited rejected. Their reason? No beer and weed. Myself and one other deaf friend were the only two deafies to show up. :(

No Beer???

That's where I draw the line.

That's just too weird, no beer!

beer and weed > playing charades on halloween night :cool2: haha jk

Ok i wasnt kidding :( but i know what you mean, though. It does get old when you do nothing but get trashed week in-and-out. Its like your ambition to do anything else is nonexistent. In college people are young and like...looking for that social atmosphere to look to befriend someone, "fit in" so to speak. But theres a lot of stuff you can do thats cool where you dont have to go get trashed. Movies, camping, gambling, going to concerts, going to a sporting event, etc. As I got older anyway, i enjoyed myself a lot more immersing myself in different things than just lets say barhopping or getting high at so-and-so's house for the 28438545th time. :P

Yes, Indeed. Personally, I have nothing against people who smokes pot or whatever. That's their business, their lifestyle, and their choice.

I just chose not to take a toke because it is not worth risking myself to get in trouble with the law, losing my job and losing the kids.

As of today, I am deaf and not a pot head. I used to a long long time ago in my earlier days when I was a teenager. I stopped after my sister died, to set good example in my life.

My son-in-law is a huge pothead and so is his siblings. One time when my daughter and her husband live with us, I smelt pot in my house :eek3: I told my son in law, I wont tolerate smoking pot in my house or you are out!!! He thinks it was funny which it ain't. Yes, he was and always is a stoner. I told him find elsewhere and I am dead serious. He said it was his cigarette that stank like pot, I said I ain't stupid and I do know when I smell one, and it smelt like his 'behind.' I do know what cigarette and pot, both smell like. I used to smoke all the time. Haha...I said, look I am your mother and I ain't stupid, so son, I will search in your room since this is my house. If I find it, you are out of my house and never come back. I did warn him that I will destroy all of his belongings and it will go in the trash. He said okay, okay...So if he want to smoke pot, fine, go else where, even he has to do it in his own car OUTSIDE, especially in a freezing 20 minus cold!!! but not in my house...

Thank God I retired having anymore children after dealing with my son in law and my daughter...

My best friend of twenty-eight years used to do with me all the time in the 80's but his girlfriend still is a pothead as of today, she said something due to her health problem, it does make her feel better. I don't turn my back against her. She is a good friend of mine, but I told her not in my house. :D

I heard this many times about some people's dying wishes before they leave the Earth, they want to smoke weed before going to Heaven. Even to smoke at least one and last cigarette of their life, even a 90-year old woman did said it to me once...(Yes, hearing people do say this all the time, not just deaf.)

Tonight, we have had it with the toking tenant and informed the landlord about the horrible smell. My throat was burning already in a minute & started coughing hard. This was no regular pot! :barf:

I do have an issue with smokers/tokers because they actually forget they are causing inhalation issues for asthmatics and those with respiratory problems.

I was just gonna ask if you were asthmatic? My Mother has COPD and she has the same issue with cig smoke. I also have an issue with alot of inhalants due to severe allergies. It really bites!

I am asthmatic too. Even to walk into some stores where people are smoking outside can start an asthma attack. I agree with Jiro that the police would be a good idea.

Me neither with those who doesn't smoke pot :) I can understand your choices, so I have my own too.

I think you should call police because landlord tends not to report to cops since he/she's only concerned with collecting rent. They will warn the tenants and that's about it. chance is they will smoke again and try harder not to get caught so it's advisable to call cops DISCREETLY.

I have a soccer field sized area full of weeds, who's with me?
