Reba, we know you're disappointed with the choice of President, but it's your disappointment to deal with. A lot of people have congratulated Obama all over the world. If that includes Chavez, then it's Chavez, too.

Me too. I don't like Hugo Chavez because he is a dictator. He hate the American! :( Are you sure that Obama is not socialist? I don't want our America into socialist like Venezuelan.

No, Pinky. Obama is *not* a socialist.

Well, Hugo Chavez isn't dictator and he's president, required by constitutional in his country and his term will end in 2013. For my experience, Chavez is tried to transfusion into socialist due high poverty rate in his country and still have freedom of speech, you would see alot of protest in Caracas and Chavez has no rights to control on them. Being socialist is something because of free healthcare, housing projects, price control on food and inflation, government control on gas price to make cheaper to their citizens and give poor people to have better life.

Be aware of it, Chavez is favor into full human rights and alot of assist with poor people.

USA still has socialism side because of SS, medicare/medicaid, housing projects, section 8 and other assist stuff.

According on US constitutional, USA can't be transition into socialist state government, none of presidents have any power to change the constitutional, except for some laws could considered too socialist but not all of them are bad.

Same goes with Venezuela, they are republic, not communist state, unlike China and Cuba.

Vietnam, North Korea, China and Cuba are communist state.

Iran and Sudan are fascist state.

Only problem, Bush hasn't talked to Chavez during his presidency and make relation becomes unpopular, Venezuela isn't hate our country since we buys oil from there and still have US embassy.

How is he a "dictator?" He was popularly elected with 70% of the vote.

The same could apply to you as well.
Take it easy on Pinky. I like her as much as I like you.
My suggestion is to google for the facts before you make statements that would inflame emotions here.
Just saying.

How did you know? Who told you?

I know this because Obama has absolutely nothing to do with Communism.

As ClearSky pointed out, calling someone a "socialist" is just one of the many scare tactics used by the GOP to get voters behind McCain.

Oh okay. I understand what you mean. Where did you learn it from? :hmm:

I read "Parade" Magazine last year ago. I found it. Hugo is not on list. You're right.

PARADE Magazine | The World's Worst Dictators-2007

Yeah, That's true. That what GOP thought Obama would be socialism. I am tired of stir up mind. I don't mean to be panic attack if he would be socialist. I read in other thread. The Ad member said "I'm heavily on socialist/Democract. Yes, I'm evil!" That what we thought.

Chavez isn't an exactly a friend of ours.

But for him to congratulate Obama is cool.

Does that mean we should let our guards down?

I'm not talking about that we should deny the possibility of agreement. I'm simply saying the future president is already being tested by other Countries.

And?

I'm glad you understand that it's only a scare tactic, Pinky. There's nothing to be afraid of since Obama isn't a socialist. As for Democrats, they aren't evil people -- although that ADer may be an exception. :)

People Magazine is NOT a source you should be getting your news from. It's good for entertainment, but for real news, I'd look elsewhere.

That's right. U.S. News and World Report would be an excellent alternative to People Magazine.

Yes sir, you are indeed entitled. I admire that entitlement as much as the fact that Chavez had the balls to call Bush a donkey.

"People Magazine is NOT a source you should be getting your news from. "

Um, it's PARADE news magazine, not People magazine. :)

Ironic that King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia is ranked 5th worst dictator but Bush and King Abdullah are close and was photographed holding hands while walking!
