That's why I suggested for u to read The South Beach Diet book. At the beginning (phrase 1), no bread, rice, white flour, sugar or milk. Eat lots of vegs, meat, some fruit, cheese, nuts. Then after few weeks, on phrase 2 can have whole wheat/pumpernickle/rye/whole grain bread (not white or bread with white flour), brown or wild rice (not white), regular oatmeal, fiber cereal, milk and still no sugar. Stay on phrase 2 til weight goal reached, then phrase 3. I haven't really read into phrase 3 yet, but the book said that it is more liberated food plan. That book also has a lot of good receipes. Lots of doctors follow this diet themselves. My doctor used that diet and lost over 50 pounds. He runs every day now and looks very healthy.
