Nononono, :p I'm enrolled in a two year ASL program, and I've taken a class or two at the local school for the deaf, but my next classes don't start until the spring so I'm studying on my own for now to try to be ahead of the game when classes start up and was looking for grammar help bc I know...

Anyone have some good links/references on ASL grammar? I'm looking around on my own, but it always helps to ask too! A lot of what I do ends up being signed english unfortunately :roll:

It's one of the big reasons I work night shift, I'm up anyways! Been doing solid nights for 7 years now, love it!

Ahhh.... I see now... The only deaf people I've had contact with were patients or my teachers at the WPSD, and they were pretty gentle with easing us into Deaf culture apparently! :lol: I'd heard that people in the Deaf community were much more direct than others, but I guess it caught me off...

I'm horrible at ASL grammar. I'm sure half of what I sign is signed english instead of proper ASL, which is why I'm taking classes instead of self-teaching. And there are some things, mostly my medical stuff, that I have down pat in proper ASL, so it's easy for me to sign/speak those basic...

Maybe I'm misunderstanding the general gist of the convo here, and it's entirely possible that I am, but it seems like non-native ASL users/hearing people are being grouped together like we're all just learning ASL as a passing fad or because it seems like the 'cool thing' to do, to communicate...
