I'm curious if it's a bad idea for 20 years old deaf guy with cochlear implant to travel alone in Europe? One always can travel in their home country without any problems. I'm just more concerns about that it might be hard for deaf person to have fun when traveling alone.
I'm looking forward...
I'm not really surprised...I fish a lot. I've seen 1.5 foot long channel catfish swimming around in 3 inch water and they basically will eat anything.
I've also seen a 6-8 foot long bull shark jump out of shore and catch the sea bird 10 feet from water and slide back into water. There's a...
This. I've experienced exactly same thing. This is coming from deaf person with cochlear implant.
I can't describe how brutal highschool was for me. Since I grew up in oralism/audism family who is embarrassed of my deafness. I never wanted to have ASL interpreter or deaf technologies. Simply...
I talk to myself a lot and other people in my head. I guess it's kinda similar to day-dreaming. For me, I use words through my mouth (thats because the way I grew up) instead of ASL.
I don't think I can hear airplane...not the one that flies up really really high. I don't live anywhere near airport. even when I'm at airport, I still can't hear them coming and going out.
Helicopter is another story, it's very hard to miss.
I don't really know how deaf people are supposed to look like. I was told by another deaf girl that it's obvious how they "look around their surrounding all the time" when hearing people barely look around. I do kinda notice that with myself because I tend to look around my surrounding too much...
I am interested what you have to say about deaf students who come from mainstream. How do they communicate weird?
I'm considering going to RIT/NTID and I came from mainstreams almost all of my life...so yeah.
After 6th beers, I walked up and strike up a conversation with two girls at party. I was signing with one hand while holding a beer on other hand. The party was extremely crowded and rowdy. Someone kinda bumped my arm when I was signing....big whoops, my signing hand smacked my beer cup and I...
So...hearing people can't spell properly when they write too?
I don't really see any differences between writing and signing. Maybe they just got the sign letters wrong or they were trying to finger spell but it failed?
I remember I got hit by drunk semi-truck driver carrying a huge boat. I was standing on side of the street. He just took down two small trees before he smacked me. I was flying across the yard. Needless to say, I was pretty pissed and stormed my way to my house.
I was about 8 years old when...
Except that I have a cochlear implant.
I'm worrying about someone might hit me above my ear. The magnet under my skin might "shatter" my skull or something.
But amateurs boxing have to wear full head-gear...that might help...a lot.
What kind of risks would there be if I join boxing?
There's several reasons why I'm worrying about joining boxing, is that I have a cochlear. I don't know what would happen if I get hit on above my ear(that's where my cochlear is at).
