Do you think transpositional(high freq---> low freq) HAs will be popular soon?

She doesn't, it's that simple (they don't compress frequencies to any region below 1500). The Naidia's are just extremely powerful aids, the frequency compression in her case is just "Crunch it and what ever she gets is a bonus". Her benefit is different from yours, everyones definition of...

    Audiograms and hearing tests

Your audiologist should explain them to you.

    "power aid?"

By the way you said it made it sound like they were testing him with only aid on at a time. Soundfield testing (the way they are testing him) is not an accurate way to determine benefit of the left or right hearing aid. Let alone they cann't they pin point sufficient power for either ear...

Do you think transpositional(high freq---> low freq) HAs will be popular soon?

Frequency transposition (shifting) and frequency compression (what phonak uses in sound recover) are different technologies. Frequency compression encompasses a shift and reduction of bandwith, transposition is simply shifting and hence produces distortions. Most patients would not tolerate...

    "power aid?"

    1. How old is Adam 2. Why are they testing him with one aid on at a time? Better yet how are they testing him with his aids on? A power aid is simply a hearing aid that is capable of a higher output (power).

    I broke Adam's HA!!! :( :(

What manufacturer is Adam wearing? (Sorry if it was already stated) Most are screw on or held in with a pin. Oticon uses a ball and socket type connection and if snapped off at the ball and that stays in the aid then it's a little work to get it out but it can be done.

    I broke Adam's HA!!! :( :(

As long as the point of attachment that the earhook (not tubing from EM) is intact, then they should just be able to put a new hook on, reattach the earmold and call it a day.

    Well my ha is shot

I can still get the P11P which is a body worn hearing aid.

    Well my ha is shot

That's the problem with analog aids, they don't have feedback cancellation. To stop the FB you either get a tight fitting ear mold or turn the high frequencies down. This isn't a bad option: http://www.gnresound.com/pro-sparx.html

    Well my ha is shot

Oticon has the 410, 420 power, 425 power plus, 380p, and 390pl still available. That's on top of the Sume E and XP.

    Well my ha is shot

Phonak owns unitron BTW. The Exelia's are great, but expensive. What is your hearing loss? Moderate? Severe? Ect?

    Well my ha is shot

Phonak has a half dozen or so, Oticon has the Sumo (not DM), Resound Sparx can be made to behave like an analog, Siemens may have 1 or 2 but nothing special.

    Poor aided results above 500Hz

    1. HA specs are referenced in a 2cc coupler. They are also performed with all noise cancellation, wind reduction, ect turned off on the aids. 2. In order for someone to get a accurate measurement of what the aids are doing in your ears, Real Ear measurements are need to be performed...
