    Sign or name sign?

I am trying to figure out if something is a sign or someone's name sign.. It is like energy (which is an arc on the upper arm with an E hand)-- but instead of an E hand it is the letter M on the upper arm. Does this sign mean anything?

    Saying 'not'/making a negative.

I have seen two ways to say 'not'/make something negative, ex. can into cannot. The first is pulling you thumb under your chin or the second having one index finger out and striking it down with the other. What is the difference between these two signs? When do you use one versus the other?

    Ear mold smell

I have heard that ear molds can start to smell. What do you do to reduce/prevent this? Also, what do you do for itching?

    English idioms into ASL

I am interested in how people would phrase certain English sayings in ASL. Here is one: How would you sign "what comes around, goes around"? If anybody has other ones, please post them! I can't remember any right now, but whenever they come up I wonder how to phrase/say them.

    Peet Hall or Benson Hall?

Clerc Hall is disgusting and the rooms are tiny (plus two people are squished in each)-- it is terrible

    Info.

Does any one have any sources or info about representations of d/Deaf in the media? I think that is what I am going to write my paper on but it's hard. (Ex. How there are have been a handful of shows recently-Law and Order: CI, CSI, etc- that had deaf characters/actors, but they were all about...

To Vegetarians, do you feed your kids meat?

Oh, and btw the way you are quite right. Breast milk transmits antibodies to the babies (which do eventually wear off as the child builds up their own immunities). This is why, when polio was still around, it only struck older children (ie past infancy).. because as a baby they had been...

To Vegetarians, do you feed your kids meat?

Babies do need breast milk or formula, but (like kittens) babies will get sick if you feed them cows milk-- It can cause GI bleeding which can cause anemia (and lead to death-- this also happens if babies get meat broth or juice) --look it up. It is in Dr. Spock's Baby Book (Basically...

    Deaf Culture Paper

Yeah, I agree. I like Marlee Matlin as much as the next person I suppose.. but all those commercials that were like "She will dance... but she can't hear the music!" ..like that was supposed to be some big shock... it was just too much..

    Deaf Culture Paper

I have to write a paper about some aspect of Deaf Culture, history, ASL, etc. Any suggestions? I considered doing the CI debate-- or ASL vs. Oralism... but I feel like those are so overdone. I wanted to do the portrayal of d/Deaf in the media (like all the crime shows in the past year...

    Re: FM System

So, I got sick of waiting (and waiting and waiting) to hear back from my school's Disabilities Office, about allowing me to borrow an FM system. As much as I hate to be annoying, I finally just emailed every person who I could find that was remotely connected to the Office (the Part-time office...

    Hearing Aid Accessories..

Oh, well the fact that you are using it to "suck out the moisture" might be the problem. I thought you were supposed to use it to blow the air out rather than suck-- and that has always worked for me. If that doesn't work, then.. I dunno.. (that is weird, I had never really considered it before.

    Dirty Restaurant Lemons?

Also, most people/restaurants do not think to wash the outside of a fruit before cutting it (when you cut it you drag the bacteria on the outside into the fruit). ..So, if that alone can make you sick, consider the fact that they are also dropping the lemon slices in the drinks whole---...
