Yes! Respect, patience and understanding that we're all human. There are some pretty crappy hearing/hearing relationships with a lot of yelling and fighting. I could list 1000 reasons I prefer the relationship I have with my deaf boyfriend now over my hearing/hearing relationships in the past...

I think it depends on the person. I would much rather talk to someone than watch a movie. Movies just aren't that important to me. On the other hand, my brother is movie CRAZY and doesn't want any interruptions unless it's an emergency. It breaks his concentration and he loses the story line...

Your boyfriend sounds totally sincere and normal. I don't think every hearing person who dates a deaf person is obsessed. When I met my boyfriend I wasn't purposely out searching, looking for signing hands, glancing at ears for hearing aides... It was just a coincidence. I met him, liked him...

I totally agree with you guys. Personally, I don't see the point in keeping contact with exes. I'm not that hard up for friends. I also think people should be honest if someone asks them out and they're already in a relationship. Why would it be so difficult to say, "sorry, I'm with someone..."...

Do you think it's wrong to hold onto another person's contact information while dating someone, just in case things don't work out? I'm wondering if someone would do this because they're afraid of being alone or they felt flattered and liked the ego boost... Keeping people on the backburner...
