Reba, why can't you answer some ADers who answered your questions? Why only me?

Not all. There are plenty of kids who grow up in non-drinking homes, and they don't become alcoholics or binge drinkers.

No, it make no difference either the children grow up in drinking homes or not. I grow up in neglect family with no positive form of discipline. My mother is an alocholic and my father was a gambler. None of my siblings and I copied their roles. :)

That's not a factual statement about all children.

It also depends on the peers. Some kids actually hang out with good peers.

Sorry, I have to disagree with you on this. Without parental education, they will think alochol is the fun and abuse alochol... Yes, there're good peers from good and educational family. Without education, it turn them into bad peers because they didn't know what it is about.

:eek3: Call DSS!

DSS? I prefer to show and educate them than say "Don't do it". Show and educate works pretty good than just say "Don't do it".

But do you allow them to use drugs in your home? Why not? Isn't it better for them to learn how to use drugs in your home? If they can drink alcohol, why can't they use drugs? If you don't allow drugs in your home, won't your boys be curious and go out and try them with their peers?

Oh yes, I allow my children to use drugs in my home. I allow them to drink sodas, cocoa, etc. and also aspirin as well. I taught them to not abuse aspirin and medicine for flu, etc. :)

That's the same excuse for alcohol.

Of course I educate my children about drugs and alochol. :)

Really? German dogs are different from American dogs? German dogs don't bite?

I only answer your each question what I have an experience. I only share if I have an experience but I don't have any. Why should I lie when I don't have any experience in my life like this? Is the question, you want to ask over my experience or general question?

Again, you miss the point.

If you can strictly teach your children not to play in traffic, and expect them to obey, why can't you strictly teach your children not to drink and expect them to obey?

You miss one of my first sentence. I did answered your question in my previous post. "It's us parent who tell them to not do that again and explain why." and share about German traffic law in second sentence.

That's not the same as a parent teaching a child to smoke.

 Do you mean that none of the parents smoking front of their children? "smoking front of the children is the same thing as teach them" because they look up at their parent's role. My sister decided to follow my parent's role to experience smoking with me. Its about teach the children okay to smoke... It's same thing what we drinking front of our children and teach them to respect alochol moderation.

I never said anything about screaming at them. You keep missing the point.

I only say because I know your posts in several threads that you support corporal punishment and public humliation which I don't. :)

So, you allow them to smoke in your home? If they can drink at home, why can't they smoke at home? If you don't let them smoke at home, they'll rebel and smoke with their friends, right?

My boys know that smoke in my home for everyone is strict forbidden. :) I will have to accept if my children decides to smoke when they are 16 years old as long as they know my house rules for not allow to smoke in my house. Its about respect. If they want to smoke then stay outside. Of course I educate my children about smoking since they know my hubby was smoker and quit at 3 years ago. My hubby quit with the help from me and my boys. My boys convinced him that it's waste of money... Without our educational then they would not know it's waste of money... Right?

I guess you don't know what huffing is. It has nothing to do with sports or aggression.

I guess you interpreted my post in the wrong way. huff means is a person who get angry and blow up or offend someone. Right? If yes, then my post is correct. I stated "Again, PuyoPiyo said is correct. Thats' why I got my boys sports and go out bit often than stick front of the computer or watch on TV... Sports helps to rid of aggressive." which means is where's their moody, angry, etc come from is stick front of the computer or watch TV tooo much, neglect, unsatisfy, etc to make them aggressive, moody, angry, offend, etc. That's why I got my boys out to sports to rid of their aggressive, etc.

It also depends on the free will of the child. No matter how "perfectly" parents train their children, some children will still rebel. It's in their nature.

Really? :eek3: I say no more further...

:eek3: Wow, you don't see the hypocrisy and rebelliousness of that?

I thought in previous threads you stated that you always obeyed the laws of Germany. But now you post that it's OK to pick and choose which laws to obey.

There's nothing more I can say to that. I'm speechless. :-o

:jaw: I'm total speechless! Do you mean that your Government control every parent's house/children education to neglect parental's rights? :jaw: It mean that you don't have your own house rules but Government... You remind me of Hilter time... *goose bump* :cold: I'm glad that European Government allows the parents with their own responsibilties to educate their children in the house and also parental approval and supervision as well. We allow to have our children to follow my house rules without have Government tell us what to do when they live in our house and educate them to repect public law what Government wants them to do when they are outside of parent's house. :) *Phew*

This topic about alcohol that's part of wine. I can tell you don't drink wine then you have no idea what you talk about!

How funny you think children and wine are bad which u don't drink wine so much. Just go to Europe and learn. I never heard people get AA from wines. That's silly. Please show me where get the info about people who get AA from wines? You know it's pretty rare than beer and vodka.

:gpost: I saw and can't beleive that Americans blames alcohol to make the people addiction. They didn't say anything about medicines because it's also drugs, too? medicines could lead addiction as well but the people know their limit when they want to take the medicines to calm their severe headache, magrine headache, etc down. It's same the thing as alochol... *scratch my head*

It's people themselves who choose to abuse alcohol and drugs, not alcohol and drugs themselves. The people who suffers mental illness etc become AA and pill addictive.

Yep and Homework, read book, chores/ clean the house etc..

Long time ago, My best hearing friend and I grew up my neighbor. My mom isn't strict with me at all.. I was sneaking to drink, smoke pot and parties all the time every weekend... But My friend do not because Her parent is nasty strict with her to education, chores, spend with family cook out, swim, games their homes.

I remember that My best friend must home by before dinner as same on weekend also summer too !~ she must read books and homeworks plus they provide more homework for her too  I said Thank god they re not my parent! And My best friend wish that My mom is her daughter!

Now......

My close friend said she is very felicitous life and thankfully with her parent who strict with her because she is very satisfied in her successful career job and her house is worth 2 million dollar!!!! she is only 37 years old! :):):):)

To opposite to me, my siblings and I came from horrible childhood background. My parents educate us NOTHING... really NOTHING... We were like you who go to parties and abuse alochol for the fun.... because we know nothing how to respect anything when we were young... until I married and learn how to respect an alochol... :ugh3: I learn a lot from my hubby what and how he was raised to respect alochol. His first beer when he was 14 years old. :eek3: I live in Germany for almost 22 years and know a lot... what/how to respect alochol, that's why we expose my children to respect alcohol and legal drugs (medicine for headache, flu, thyriod, etc)

From your decription about your best friend sounds wonderful because we did the same thing as your best friend's parent as well. Your best friend's parents did not neglect their education to expose your best friend like this. (sports, games, swim, trips, etc) We make sure that my boys done with their homework first before we allow them go out. We parents fix the limit for our children.

Look, we were no angel when we were teenagers but turn into good people... My brother is a successful business man and own a big company and travel alot. I has a good and successful job and have lovely family and house and travel alot. My 10 year younger sister is successful career woman which we are moviate to work for our future ourselves. It's not just us but many people did like that, no matter either they come from good home or horrible home.

It's people themselves who willing to moviate something themselves when they decides to not look at their parent's roles or not.

:ugh3: Very interesting after I read the link you gave me.

Let Americans talk whatever they want. Wine is damn famous since Egypt.

Did you know California have best wine in the world? How come most Americans don't want to drink wine?

Yeah I really don't understand either... :ugh3:

Not the flame. They felt the oven door and I told them that is the whole stove and don't try it again.

Oh yes, me too. Your post fresh my memory... :giggle: I put the cake in the oven after baked. (I have glass stove, we can see the cake grow golden tan)... I told my toddlers... OOOcccchhh it's hot when I touch my hand on the glass stove. They put their hand and feeling it's hot when their hand goes close to glass stove. It's same with with candles... They know and keep distance from hot. I have less problem with them because educate and show them and explain to not touch because it's dangerous is easier than tell them "Don't touch it" or "Don't do it".

I won't let my kids run wild. Just if they come home drunk, buzzed, stoned, wasted or anything else to deal with the stuff they not suppost to do, then I would make their night a living hell. Then again, if they want to drink a little at home, I would allow it. It would mean that they won't be driving and drinking, or causing trouble while drinking, or something comes about cause they are drunk. They won't get wasted at home either. It would show my kids on how to be responsable with their drinking

Yes I second that.

... huff means is a person who get angry and blow up or offend someone. Right?
Wrong.
Huffing is the act of getting high by inhaling toxic fumes from legal household or industrial items. Other names for this act are bagging and sniffing. Huffing is responsible for over 1,000 U.S. deaths annually. Many parents are worried about the children doing drugs but do not usually consider household items as drugs, but inhalant abuse is third to alcohol and marijuana in drug use by teens. Huffing is a common trend; twenty percent of all eighth graders have huffed inhalants.

Most Common Signs of Inhalant Abuse
1. Red, runny eyes or nose
2. Chemical breath
3. Slurred speech
4. Excessive, or odd laughter
5. "Drunk" appearance
6. Glassy, dilated, or constricted eyes
7. Sweating
8. Nonsensical talk, paranoia
9. Withdrawal from family
10. Apathy
11. Rags/Cotton balls and plastic bags with chemical odor
12. Correction fluid on nose, fingers, or clothes
13. Markers in pockets

Most Common Items used for Huffing
Although there are thousands of items around the house or office, the most common items used for huffing are hair spray, gasoline, rubber cement, glue, furniture polish, air fresheners, spray paint, liquid correction fluid, paint thinners, inhalers, breath spray, felt tip markers, propane gas, cleaning fluids, tape head cleaners, aerosol whipped cream propellants, vegetable cooking sprays, paint-thinners, degreasers, dry-cleaning fluids, and art or office supply solvents.

Inhalent AbuseThe Signs and Concerns

I was like  and double check with dictonary...

huffing definition - Dictionary - MSN Encarta

?

Oh I got it. I confused between American and British language. British use "glue-sniffing", not huff... The glue-sniffing teens are very common in England. I was surprised after read the list you provided me here. I'm going to re-read them what and how the teenagers did with sniff (US huff).

After reading those link... It's very scary to know that it's not just glue but more...

Where did I stated that people get AA from wines? I did not say that at all. second of all, So? If I don't drink wine, doesn't matter, I refused to give my children any alcohol period or any drugs period for just for a taste. I'm not like some parents like you, I'm my own person and that's my opinion.

You said that you refused to give your children alcohol and any drugs.. Do you mean that you NEVER give medience to your children when they are ill or whatever? Do you mean that you refused to give your children cola, soda, cocca, tea, coffee or whatever to drink?
Do you mean that you have to check every label to make sure that there're no alcohol including foods before buy them?

You talked negative about alochol because you think alcohol make the people bad which is not true. It's people themselves who abuse alcohol, not alcohol itself.

Reba, why can't you answer some ADers who answered your questions? Why only me?
1. Don't be so paranoid; I answer many, many other ADers, too. I guess you just notice your own more.

2. Many times you address your questions or statements directly to me, by name. I assume that means you want me to reply. In fact, see your above question. You used my name specifically. Would I be rude if I ignored you?

3. You post more than anyone else, so obviously I reply to you more than anyone else. See how many posts you have under your name.

4. You often reply directly to my posts, point by point, so I respond back, point by point (when I have time).

5. Sometimes you chastise me for NOT replying to your posts. I just can't win!

Is medication illegal for kids? No, Is alcohol (beer, wine, shots) illegal for kids? Yes.

Big differences end of the discussion. ;)

I agree...here in the US, it is illegal for anyone under 21 to drink and I am not gonna break the laws.

No matter what... alochol is alochol and drugs is drugs, period. ;)

It sound hypocrisy to me that alcohol and drugs are illegal for the teenagers accord US law which they are allow to eat and drink and take medication where it's including alcohol and drugs. :dizzy: *scratch my head*

Me either, or do I want my children be taken away from the Department of Child Services, no way so that's why I prefer to follow the law than taking the risk of my children being taken away.

I know..not worth putting the family thru that kind of trauma for alcohol..

Drug abuse is:

1. using legal drugs (OTC and prescription) or chemicals (inhalants) in an illegal way

2. using illegal drugs or chemicals

Alcohol is a legal drug for adults (age 21) in the United States.

Alcohol is an illegal drug for minors in the United States.

Care to explain why everyone from here think alcohol make people get AA?

Please explain to me why wine is bad for health?
