Well..the mechanic warned me that it may last for another 10 years or another 3 months. What happened was major and he tried his best to repair it but not promising me anything.

Damn.... Hope it holds together a little longer. :aw:

I know..jsut for 3 more years. I switched vehicles with my hubby. His 2 year old SUV is now mine while mine is his for commutting purposes since he commutes to BWI to get on the train. Only 5 mins while mine is a 20 min commute.

That sounds like a good plan to stick just in case. Hopefully everything goes well for a while. It sucks when it breaks while ur on a car payment, not fun.

Wirelessly posted

I am in class working on my homework chap 3-7

No, it wasnt blown up..it was the timing belt, water pump, crankshaft, pulley, ..the water pump was the one that costed major major bucks!

water pump is what I have to look for in my motorcycle. It is a notorious issue in that model after a certain mileage. Fortunately - the part is cheap and it's easy to replace it.

That's my whole issue...that's why I am sooo frustrated and it got the best of me yesterday hence busting my hand missing the punching bag. Oh boy.

I only owe a few thousand dollars on it and just want a few years of no car payments for once since I was 17 years old. That's all.

Yeah I know the feeling. I want to pay off my car loan right now because it's eating up my money.

I remember when I had the old wagon shitbox, and one day I was travelling to school, and the water pump exploded causing my car to break down, so I only paid $380 to get the water pump replaced.

I am bit bummed got 88% (lecture) on my test and 100% on vocabulary.

If you feel it is worth to fix it. Do it!

I feel if the vehicle in general is in good shape do it!

Seen people ditch their vehicles before because they simply did not want to pay for the a/c to get fixed.

It all depends on how much the vehicle is worth.

Does the repair price cost more than what the vehicle is worth??

To be honest I never buy new.

Always went to auctions and paid for the vehicle I own in full.

:)

No, the repairs do not cost more than what it is worth. If they did, I would have not gotten it fixed.

I just got home...was hoping to take a quick nap but no time since I have to pick Jiro and TheWriteAlex in less than an hour. damn traffic.

My personal rule is if it is costing more to maintain the vehicle than what it is actually worth, it is time for a new(er) vehicle depending upon your preferences and financial abilities.

Prime example: I had a 1992 Ford Explorer, my parents bought it new in 1993, gave it to me to drive when I was 17, I drove it until 2008. When I traded it in, the seats were completely torn out, the a/c and heater were no longer functioning and no mechanic could repair it. The power windows were wearing out, the motor had completely flipped the odometer at least 3 times it had been driven so much. Had a busted out headlight, broken grille, dinged up bumpers, The engine sounded awful, like it didn't have much longer to go before it went kaput. Oh, it was also a rolling hazard as it had caught fire on me once going down the road. Scared the living shit out of me. From then on I carried a fire extinguisher in it, lol.

Yeah it was very much time for a new vehicle. During the last year I had it, it was in the shop at least once a month for some type of repair. I looked up on Kelley Blue Book.com and turns out in the condition it was in, it was worth only about $500. It was costing me that much or more per year just to keep it running. That's when I started saving my money for the truck I drive now, a 2001 Ford SporTrac which I am very proud of. It is absolute LUXURY compared to what I had before.

Today's shopping, shopping and some more shopping... Anybody wanna tag along? :giggle:

I have the urge to go to Conway but I have no business over there. Since dad is gone, me, mom, and Maddie will probably go to Russellville today.

I think my daughter is seriously missing us. She keeps texting me for a pic of her brother and keeps saying she misses us so much. That's like the 3rd day in a row she has texted me so early in the morning. Wow..

Jiro and TheWriteAlex are still sleeping and I plan to go back to sleep. I woke up to get a drink of water. :)

Awww Shel90....maybe your daughter may realized she made a mistake to move?
