I'm in so mood to see a new movie at theatre. The Hulk is coming out this Friday and I'm desperately to see it! I've searched through at www.deafnyc.com, www.lct.org (The Lincoln Center Theatre in NYC), and www.tripod.org and it seemed like every opened caption businesses went down, less places to go to see a new movie. :(
I'm wondering do anyone knows of a good site(s) where you can find more infos on opened caption theatres and events for the deaf? Thanks!

What I heard that there is a movie theater in Rochy always got new movies with open-captioned every week. I dunno what the url for this movie theater.

usually you have to check your local theater's homepage and check if there's OC movies showing

have you looked for rear-view movies? If not, I know a specific theatre that offers RV movies, which isnt half bad once you get used to it.. its www.crowntheatres.com - I go to the one in downtown Minneapolis ;) hope thats something you'd look at, ofc, if its in your area :P

Thanks, again!!

In Rochester,

Regal Henrietta 18

They have weekly OC movies. This week is "Finding Nemo". Next week will be "Hulk". "Terminator 3" is after that. I can't wait to see those!

I use http://www.insightcinema.org/ to keep track of open captioned movies for Little Rock, Arkansas.

Of right now, I have made a suggestion for Lisa to print out few months of those movies to post at our local Deaf club. Many of them never knew about using those websites.

Yeah, in Australia, they've finally released open captioned movies, but I wish they would make them on a regular basis, instead of just set days, but unfortunately it's how the system works. It's a shame we have to wait a few weeks or sometimes months until the next movie with captions come out, because some deaf people miss out on seeing the movie with their hearing families as they've seen it already. But I hope the scheme will improve with the coming years.

I remember going to a theatre in Baltimore, MD in November 2001 as my sister, her boyfriend, my mum and myself wanted to watch the new "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" (Socerer's Stone in USA, but Philosopher's Stone in UK, Australia, Europe).... the theatre we saw the movie in was offering RV and it was interesting! Not what I was accustomed to. :P

I hope the same...I was quite disappointed on Australian's standards for Deaf accessibility here when I first moved here. But they HAVE been trying to improve the standards since then...more shows on tv are captioned, but more on primetime not during the day time.

You're welcome to move back to USA. Your bags of whines would qualify that. :p

Heheh...I'd love to! But I have a family here and a job as well. :P Hubby and I have been talking about moving back to the States sometimes in the future...perhaps within 5 to 10 years, who knows? ;) I'm enjoying life here at the moment, so ain't interested in moving back as of yet.
