    How do you sign...

Here in San Diego, I've been told by my Deaf teacher and some friends what kellycat says. The open-8 handshape touching the chin and turning out is "lucky" or "fortunate" but not "luck" as a noun. Good luck is GOOD + fingerspelled L-U-C-K or GOOD followed by thumbs-up (open-A) handshape.

    mobile apps?

This one from NTID is pretty good. It shows different signs for the same word and has quite a few example sentences. It doesn't have any slow-motion or repeat feature like some others do, though. App Store - ASL Dictionary from NTID

    Advice for a hearing parent?

My wife and I are both hearing. Our daughter, who is now 18 months old, was born deaf. We've both been learning ASL since we found out and plan to use it as her primary language. She does have a cochlear implant on one side, but her cochlear nerve is small and we aren't sure how much she'll...

    Hi from San Diego

Hello all, I've lurked here for a bit, but never properly introduced myself. I'm hearing, but I'm the father of a wonderful little girl who is now 17 months old. We discovered that she is deaf when she failed her hearing test shortly after birth. She has some neurological problems and is...

How would you sign 'course' in the food sense? As in a three-course meal.
