I do pay for dentist insurance but I haven't gotten myself checkup yet

I hate going to the dentist...I would rather be doing something else but for my teeth's sake I will go. :giggle:

I go to the dentist twice a year for check up and cleaning. I get x-rays once a year. I get other dental work done as needed. Going to the dentist isn't "fun" but I don't mind. It's worth it to have nice teeth. :D

Don't like docs or dentists

I'm with Shel. I went to the dentist last week for the first time in at least four years. It took awhile to clean them up. I still need one filling. Doc told me that I got off lucky. Filling - $150 approx, root canal etc - $1500 maybe $2000. I'll take the filling.

Maybe next year I'll even go see a doctor. It's been even longer since my last physical. It could be scary since I'm over 40.

I just had my teeth checked but only got one cavity! I haven't see dentist for like over 10 years. I will have cleaning in July. UGH! I hate the taste of their nasty toothpaste! Maybe I'll ask for bubblegum flavored! LOL!

I voted NO.... i am wearing dentures... no need to visit dentists any more...

I haven't gone to dentist s office for 12 years.

And no i dont have crooked, yellow teeth. My teeth s perfect fine :D You can avoid going to dentist if you brush your teeth 2 times a day, mouthwash, and floss.

dentist is so important to go to at least twice year. many people that other diseases and contribution to worsening a chronic disease can partially caused by poor dentition and gum disease. I invested a lot in my smile and want to keep healthy, white teeth.

I havent gone to dentist for pretty long cuz I dont know if any denist dr is good person to check up in DC :dunno:

It's important for everyone to go just like you should check your physical health. Your teeth can impact your overall health too. By going twice a year, you prevent a bigger problem and a large bill at once. Everyone's different. Some will get cavities more than others because everyone's different. Just try to make sure you floss daily, and brush about two minutes twice daily. That could help improve from getting some problem. Toothbrushes don't always reach between teeths, and you may find stuff that only flossing gets rid of.

Hell no, I hate go to dentist but last time was checked up in last summer and all are fine, no cavities and haven't visited at dentist for 2 years before happened.

I refuse to get remove on my wisdom teeth, that fucking pain ass.

I had been extracted on 2 teeth in last 10 years ago when my baby teeth were poor condition with full of infection, also same with cavity and other several teeth were treated by filled up with silver but all of them are removed, after all baby teeth went out. I got brace for around 2 years then removed and got 2 cavities, also treated with white filled up, no silver for me.

Dentist is my pet peeves but I has to go for check up twice a year to take care of my teeth...

This morning while eating breakfast, I broke a tooth. Ugh! I had to go to work, so I couldn't go right away to the dentist. Then, Hubby came in the house and told me that I had a flat tire! He put the spare on for me, and took the damaged tire with him so he could get it replaced (it had a nail in the sidewall, so it couldn't be fixed). So, today, $60 for a new tire.

During my break between jobs today, I went to the dentist ($85 for an emergency exam and x-ray). He told me it will cost $270 for a filling that fell out, and $970 for a crown to cover the broken tooth. Ouch! I will really have to dig to find that much money in a hurry.

The dentist's bill hurts more than the dentist's drill.

Yesterday I had to get more dental work done. :(

I paid $257 to get a silver filling replaced with a white filling. The silver one (about 50 years old) was beginning to fall out, and the tooth had some cracks in it, so I had a bonded white filling replace the old filling and cover the cracks. I hope it lasts.

Eventually, I'll probably need to have all the old fillings replaces. Ugh!

Last week, Hubby had to get a new filling because one of his fell out. That's the second filling (different tooth) that had to be replaced in recent years.

It seems when the fillings hit the 50-year mark they must pass their expiration date. Whatever....

Anyone ever had any implants?...I've got several crowns...I've had so much work done on my teeth, costing lots of $$....Would love to get implants! Not having to worry so much....Root canals, gum disease, crowns, fillings, cleanings, wisdom teeth extracted...the list goes on and on.

No implants yet but I might need a few some day. A few of my teeth have very shallow roots and could fall out if I'm not careful.

I haven't seen a dentist for the last 20 years. Seems the money is never there. Hubby is currently having all of his teeth pulled and dentures made. He has had veneers, gold crowns, silver crowns, fillings, root canals and I'm not sure what else. MIL says she has invested over $19,000 in his mouth just during his first 19 years. (they were a family that ate all kinds of candy and sweets and such)

I have had 5 fillings and no problems. My wisdom teeth came in at a angle and last I saw a dentist, he said I needed braces for the bottom teeth. I'm not worried about it. I did not see a need and therefore, I will just keep on with what I am doing.
