It's weird. Hubby and I were discussing this topic earlier. We were perplexed why they would use the name Geronimo. We found it very offensive and insensitive.

Then, he discovered this news story. It's like they read my mind!

I think I can see why they came up with Geronimo. Geronimo surrendered so they hope Bin Laden would do the same.

Well, Geronimo ain't Bin Laden. Bin Laden refused to surrender. I remember Geronimo escaped three times. I could be wrong. Let's see. First, Bin Laden escaped from Clinton. Secondly, Bin Laden escaped from Afghanistan to hide in Pakistan. Thirdly, He tried. Ok, I made it up. Honestly, I don't know why they picked out Geronimo.

I learned who he was when I wanted to know what Geronimo meant when I was in the fifth grade.

Seriously it would have been impossible to get through 7th grade history in Texas without knowing all of those. And yes I think it is very disrespectful to compare Geronimo and OBL.

I think Geronimo seems to be cool and unique to some people. Look at the celebrities with one unique name, but it appears no one is aware of the history behind the original name, Geronimo.
