Correct.I guess I didn't make my point very well. Using "Geronimo" (a proper name) for an operation would be similar to using "Robert E. Lee" or "Bedford Forrest" or some other Confederate general's name. It would be equally offensive. I doubt that our military has ever used (in recent history) those rebel names as codes for an enemy, and they should not have used "Geronimo" either.
A person of the white privileged class doesn't get to decide what a slur is to a Native American (or any other minority group). If the Native Americans say it's a slur, it is.
I am a person of white "privileged" class that also happens to be part Miami. Does half of me get to say what is a slur?
