Would you leave your car running at 7-11?

Shel, in Missouri that is "endangering the welfare of a child" and yes, I have arrested mothers for that. It is a felony.
I have had to make the decison a few times on whether or not to chase a car within minutes of it being stolen when we know there is a kid in the car. Yes it is very risky to chase the car, but if I do not chase it to get the kid back, we may never see the kid again.

Sorry, I never leave my car running unless I am in my hometown. I just don't trust ppl anywhere. Besides, there is a law here in Germany that I found out. They won't allow the cars here to ideal longer then 3 mins here.

No, I don't have a truck yet. I am going to wait till right before I go back to the states before I get a truck. It is useless in Germany. The gas prices are to high while the roads are to narrow

How high are the gas prices? Gas prices here have gone down BUT a few cents have been added every now and then. I hate gas! If there was a metro near my work, I would sell my truck and just walk or ride my bike. Good way to save money and lose weight!!! LOL!

After converting the prices and everything over to US dollars, it is over 5 dollars a gallon. Germans also think their gas prices are not that bad, then again, it is easy to get on a train or bus to get to work. Trains run almost every hour.

*sighs* wish the public transportation system was better here. I used to work at Gallaudet and I would take the metro daily. Was really nice not to get stressed out from driving daily.

Well...there is a law here in MD about warming up your car and leave it running in front of your home. Can get fined...

I saw this asshole left his car running while going in 7-11.Stupid fool!!Someone is gonna take his car and its gonna be his own fault.

Ideally: Sure! I will leave it running if I HATE my car that much...why should I care if someone stole it.

Logically: No, I won't leave my car running and I'm not that stupid! I need my flippin' car to get from point A to point B.

Need I say more?

CHEERS!!!

Yes... I have noticed that Europeans don't complain too much about the gas prices. And, we spoiled Americans complain when the gas prices go up a few cents.

I've never left the car running while I've entered the store. On the other hand, I've locked myself out of the car more times than I care to remember. I've left the lights on so many times that I bought myself battery powered jumper cables. :P

I'm a spoiled American and loving it!!!!!!!!!!!!

:fart:

I still would not leave my car running no matter what. And I beleive that gas prices should be higher and laws abt leaving your car running should be made. It is better for everyone and have some people that like to waste fuel more careful with it. I don't believe it should jump up like it did, just a slow increase.

HUH? Why do u believe that gas prices should be higher? When they were so high last year, I was spending almost $100 a week for gas so it forced me to move closer to my work cuz I couldnt afford the commute. I cant afford higher gas prices..if they go up too high, I will have to quit my job cuz the public transportation really SUCKS here.

That is the reason why I think that gas prices should be higher, force the City to make better public transit and promote it more. Right now, they not used that offen cause it is more convent to drive and u won't get ppl to give up their big cars and everything to take a public transit. Also, with higher gas prices, u will see more enegry saving going on and the focus of another energy soruce too. Again, we pay around 2.40 a gallon while other countries pay well over 5 dollars a gallon. We complain abt our gas prices and everything, but they don't?

Sorry, I don't agree with all your points.

I do agree that more public transportation should be available.

I don't agree that gas prices should be higher. I don't think high gas prices will encourage cities to improve public transportation. Also, public transit is not the solution to everyone's transportation needs. Even if there was a bus that stopped at my door, it wouldn't solve the driving needs of me and Hubby. I'm a "community" interpreter. My assignments vary, day by day, hour by hour, sometimes even while I'm driving to one job, I have to turn around and go to a different job. I don't have a regular commuting route or schedule. Often, I go from one job in town A, to another job in town B, and I have to be there in less than 30 minutes. I can't wait for a bus.

Also, Hubby's work requires him to drive a van to customers' houses and businesses. He can't tow his van behind a bus.

There are many other small businessesmen who deliver products and make service calls. They can't use public transportation. So higher gas prices seriously hurt them.

i WOULD leave a old junky car running at 7-11 but if its nice and neat car i wont...

one of advantage to own car with stick is that not everyone can uses stick.

If you own a car with auto, your car will be likely to be stolen 100 percent opposed to car with stick.
